DEAR WATCHMEN OF HOLY FIRE,
FIRST—With Thanksgiving coming this Thursday, many of you will be enjoying friends and family Wednesday, preparing for a FEAST. So get your prophetic flow moving Sunday evening! And lets connect and watch together in a special prayer call. Because a major key has been given for breakthrough!

As we approach Thanksgiving, lets thank God for His covenant blessings in all our lives. And lets explore this a bit. I want to share with you key revelation that came out of my mouth recently before my mind could actually grasp it. 

Major steps have been made to make America great again. They’re working. But with all the divisiveness, forcefulness and vitriol, even economic recovery and much-needed diplomatic realignment have not restored the essential one-ness of our corporate identity.

While I was praying about this, I had a flash. The Lord is desiring to recover the genuineness of the American spirit. His Spirit, His way. Restoring our identity, shaping our destiny. 

Lazarus Nation Must Come Forth!
Our friend Lynn Alderson and I were leading a private HAPN prayer call recently. We felt an immediate need to cover California and our nation after the Thousand Oaks shooting. Just presenting again the verdict the Lord had already rendered over our land. Covenant with death and hell annulled! 

Like me, one of Lynn’s friends on the call was also a direct descendant of the Pilgrims. It was such a joy to hear her share. When she emphasized how the Pilgrims cut covenant with the Lord for the nation, and how the essence of this covenant endures before the Throne today. 

My heart was so stirred! Needless to say I jumped in to the conversation—head first. The Pilgrims made their covenant with the Lord on November 11, 1620. The year 2020, date 11-11, marks the 400th anniversary of the signing of this covenant. John 11:11 declares the destiny of our nation in awakening. As Jesus prophesied, “Lazarus our friend has fallen asleep. But I go that I may awaken him from slumber!”

And that’s when the following words came out of my mouth—faster than I could even think of them. “America is a Lazarus nation,” I prophesied. “He is moving to awaken us. To bring us back to life. 

“And just as Jesus called Lazarus’ human spirit back into his body, so are now going to call the spirit of America back into our nation!”

What?

Spirit Return!
Then I kind of bumbled through a theological prayer explaining what I had just prayed. “Spirit of the Lord, we say NOW return to our land. Infuse our human spirits with Your breath, Your Holy Spirit. Bring through this the recovery of the American spirit!”

I still don’t know the theological validity of calling America’s spirit back to our land just as Jesus called the human spirit of Lazarus back to his body. But by the Holy Spirit, that’s what came out. The most important part of this is not the technique. The most important part is that God desires to recover the American spirit!

Defining the American Spirit
Baseball, hot dogs, apple pie, Chevrolet. Revolution and freedom. Great football games too. All images of the American spirit. But how is it defined? How is it empowered or recovered? 

I believe the essence was best summed up in the 1800s by famed French diplomat Alexis de Tocqueville. He observed, “Not until I went into the churches America and heard her pulpits, aflame with righteousness, did I understand the secret of her genius and power.” 

Powerful observation. He then prophesied a word that speaks directly to our era. “America is great because America is good. And if America ever ceases to be good, America will cease to be great.” What a sobering warning!

Many pulpits are still directing our land. But can we honestly say they are aflame with righteousness? In so many cases a feel-good message has usurped the covenant flame of holy conviction. We may feel better for a moment. But are we being genuinely healed?

So what is the true American spirit? Where is it derived from?

The DNA of American Awakenings
I believe the Mayflower Compact actually defines the essence of the true American spirit. According to the document, our land and government were consecrated to “the glory of God and the advancement of the Christian faith…” These are the literal words of this compact. And according to the compact, they wrote it literally IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD.

That’s exactly what we saw in the First Great Awakening. The glory of God swept across our land in extraordinary power. Preaching suddenly brought massive numbers of people into a deep conviction they did not ever sense before. Multitudes fell under the power, shaking, in what was known as the “herkie-jerkies.”  No one was laying hands on them. They simply experienced the manifest presence of God.

The other hallmark of the First Great Awakening was the rapid advancement of the Christian faith. A holy fire spread across the 13 colonies, with entire cities and regions coming to the Lord.

Know what? The same thing occurred in the Second Great Awakening. In fact some areas of the land were known as “the burnt over district” because there was quite literally no one left to get saved!

We so need this today. Only the Spirit of God can shift our hearts and minds personally and as a nation. It all begins with a fresh revelation of Jesus. 

We need a new way forward. These awakening movements literally set the course of our nation in freedom. And I prophesy to you, the same fire of God’s movement is at our gates today! Same God, same glory. A new way forward.

Prophetic Prayer
Lets pray and decree together. We come into agreement together for the restoration of the true American Spirit to our land. Holy Spirit come again! River of fire flow! Restore Your life-giving Spirit as the spiritual undercurrent and overarching influence of the United States. From coast to coast. In Washington DC. Restore your anointing of holy conviction, such a hallmark of the first two Great Awakenings. Reveal Jesus!

Lord we say, COME FROM THE FOUR WINDS O BREATH, and breathe on these slain that they may live! AMERICA, AWAKE! By verdict from Heaven’s Court, we command Your shift from a covenant with death empowering a culture of death to Your covenant of life empowering a culture of life. We call the true American Spirit—Holy Spirit—back into the heart and body of this land. AMERICA NOW COME FORTH! 

In Jesus’ Name. And No King but Jesus…
