Defend the Biblical Definition of Marriage
On Tuesday, several states–including Maryland, Maine, Minnesota, and Washington State–have referendums on their ballots to vote on same sex marriage. Please pray! We encourage you to stand for the Biblical definition of marriage to be retained.
And may Maryland fulfill her prophetic calling as a “State of Reversal.” Dutch Sheets prophesied this on March 4, 2004, during a 50 state tour. That Maryland would be a “state of reversal” where unrighteous legislation that had succeeded in other states would be reversed in Maryland. This reversal would set a new course for the nation. State of Reversal! We agree, Lord. Align Maryland with this decree even now!
Marriage is a Sacrament of the Church
For the past week or so, this phrase–marriage is between a Bridegroom and a Bride–has not left my spirit. I feel the Lord is now trumpeting this simple message. Marriage, as He has ordained it, is between a Bridegroom and a Bride.
Yes, the Lord is warning against homosexual unions–absolutely. Marriage is a sacrament of the church. And when the Constitution calls for separation between church and state, it is to prevent the state from mandating to the church.
But I believe the Lord is conveying more than a warning here. It is also an invitation for us to again experience “first love devotion” to Jesus Christ. Personally and as a nation, we have received a renewal of covenant with Him. Now the Lord wants to tabernacle–to dwell with us!
LIFE is Sacred
And the fruit of this covenant has been appointed for LIFE. Because Marriage is between a Bridegroom and a Bride. And the offspring of this intimacy is sacred to the Lord!
Friends, God is calling us like never before to align with LIFE. And not just in how we vote, though this is vitally important.
I am convinced of a prophetic reality. Just as the enemy sought to “X out” our covenant as a nation with the Lord Jesus Christ, so he desires to “X out” the fruit of this covenant. But God wants to grant us a “new birth of freedom.” This “new birth of freedom” must be contended for, is by no means guaranteed.
Claiming the Baby
During a recent Wednesday call, we were praying through the threat of rioting in the streets after the election. My friend Jacquie Tyre, an apostolic leader from Georgia, shared an incredible revelatory experience.
During a meeting the night before, Jacquie was approached by an African American woman who had received a vision from the Lord. She saw how this election was like the competition between two mothers who both claimed the same baby as their own. 1 Kings 3:25-27 records how Solomon judged between the two mothers.
The king said, “Get me a sword.” So they brought a sword before the king. 25 The king said, “Divide the living child in two, and give half to the one and half to the other.” 26 Then the woman whose child was the living one spoke to the king, for [m]she was deeply stirred over her son and said, “Oh, my lord, give her the living child, and by no means kill him.” But the other said, “He shall be neither mine nor yours; divide him!” 27 Then the king said, “Give [n]the first woman the living child, and by no means kill him. She is his mother.”
Who Would Divide this Baby?
According to Jacquie, this woman of God felt that the baby represented the Nation. Which candidates would rather preserve the baby than divide it in order to claim it? Which would rather divide the baby than let it live in the care of another?
God is judging in these elections. And the wisdom of Solomon is now in play. Could it be that, from His perspective, this whole election is actually about LIFE?
False stewards will lay down the lives of others for their own personal gain. God’s chosen stewards choose life. They will have a proven track record of divesting of themselves in order to invest in others. As William Penn declared–NO CROSS, NO CROWN!
New Birth of Freedom
Lets pray that God truly grant us this new birth of freedom. With fathers and mothers to this nation who will consider the life of the child more important than their own. Pray that the Lord will give clarity of heart on this issue as America votes her conscience. We do not want this new birth of freedom to be aborted.
