The Days of Awe are days of decision. Where the Spirit of God challenges us to make choices. To re-align our hearts and our priorities according to His generous covenant!

Yesterday we shared on choosing Israel. In choosing Israel’s blessing, we are truly choosing our own. We shared about being grafted into God’s covenant with Israel, even as a nation. And how vital your intercession is in this hour of decision.

Choosing to Give
Today I want to share on an aspect of repentance and realignment traditionally emphasized during the Days of Awe. That is choosing the grace of giving. Lamplighter family, I cannot even write this without first expressing our profound gratitude for you. Your generosity towards us has empowered our ministry at such a critical time for our nation–in DC no less!

Do we have needs? Yup. But that’s not why I’m writing. This morning I felt the Spirit of God highlight “giving” during these Days of Awe. God wants us to reconcile our books with Him. And perhaps the corporate body of Christ is being called to a much higher standard of stewardship than we’ve attained. Leaders first!

Not surprisingly, our obedience in giving to the Lord is a primary means to secure His protection and preservation for our Nation. We’ll explore this in a moment.

Your Field of Harvest
For now, take some time in God’s presence, and allow Him to show you the seeds He wants you to sow in order to secure your field of harvest for the coming season.

Maybe you desire to give to Lamplighter. We are grateful! Your investment will propel us forward throughout Davids Tent DC. Just click the “Donate” button above to get started.

Or maybe you want to invest in Davids Tent DC itself, led by Jason Hershey. Just go to www.davidstentdc.org to contribute.

God might lead you to invest in a church, in His work in Israel or the nations, etc. Fantastic! We totally celebrate your Kingdom commitment, wherever and however He leads. You might have already answered the call–or even given beyond His “call of duty.” Thank you for so profoundly reflecting Christ’s heart and nature!

Securing National Blessing
We’ve all absorbed sermons from Malachi 3 on giving our tithes and offerings. But lets take a look at the passage with fresh eyes. Ok?

“Will a man rob God? Yet you are robbing Me! But you say, ‘How have we robbed You?’ In tithes and offerings. “You are cursed with a curse, for you are robbing Me, EVEN THE WHOLE NATION.”

God doesn’t mince words here. As believers, neglecting the grace of giving can have detrimental effects upon ourselves and our families. Yet have you ever considered that God is not just addressing an individual here? He is addressing a nation. Your obedience helps secure God’s covenant blessing for our entire land!

“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and test Me now in this,” says the LORD of hosts, “if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows. Then I will rebuke the devourer for you, so that it will not destroy the fruits of the ground; nor will your vine in the field cast its grapes,” says the LORD of hosts. “All the nations will call you blessed, for you shall be a delightful land,” says the LORD of hosts” (Malachi 3:8-12).

Note that the tithe was designated to secure provision for God’s house–and all its work. In Isaiah 56:7, God defines His House as a “House of Prayer.” Jesus reiterates this. And He wants His houses of prayer to be provided for in this hour.

The Grace of Giving & Homeland Security
Note also that God responds to our heart-felt giving by doing two things. First, He opens the windows of heaven and pours out blessing. Second, He rebukes the devourer!

I will say without a doubt that God consistently fulfills this promise to individuals–and to ministries, businesses, even regions. We seek personally to walk in an open heaven, with the devourer rebuked. And we pray for all who invest in our ministry to experience the same.

But note that the Lord promises, “All the (other) nations will call you blessed.” Once again, the Lord draws a clear parallel between our giving and His work to secure blessing for us AS A NATION.

What does it look like when God opens the windows of heaven over our entire Nation? What does it look like when He supernaturally rebukes the devourer, and secures our harvest from Washington to Washington?

Awakening and visitation–yes. Economic restoration–yes. Enemies exposed and subdued–yes. This is “Homeland Security” God’s way. His house functions as He desires. The gates of heaven are open, the gates of sabotage are shut. The harvest is preserved!

Favor Restored
Homeland security, economic restoration, an open heaven etc–these are all covenant blessings bestowed on our land by the Lord. They are not the goal, they are the byproduct of our true worship and covenant alignment with Jesus Christ.

But note again the promise of Malachi that “All nations will call you blessed.” The nations will favor you! This is a promise from God to our land as we fulfill our obedience to see the heavens opened, and the devourer rebuked. Favor for America can be restored among the nations!

In this critical hour, as we advance into these Days of Awe, we encourage you to fulfill all obedience in your giving. Lets pray for the body of Christ to fully align in this–not to strive, but simply to obey.

And lets together remind God of the great generosity He has inspired in our land and people. Lord, rend the heavens! Lord, rebuke the devourer! Even now, restore covenant favor both to America and Israel. In Jesus’ Name!
