MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT COMING WEDS! Jason Hershey of Davids Tent on Prayer Call Wednesday. 9PM EST. Conference call number: 805-399-1200 access code 552-690. Use *6 to mute/unmute. Invite your friends to join us!

Jason Hershey is on it. The founder of Davids Tent and the Washington House of Prayer has called his team 21 days of fasting and prayer for breakthrough from the stronghold of humanism. This fast leads directly into the first leg of our Glory Procession, carrying through from Jacksonville til our metro DC gathering.

In the posting below, Jason Hershey identifies humanism as the strongman over America. My first reaction was “I thought Baal was the strongman.” Immediately revelation came. Humanism is the cultural expression of the Baal strongman, and is greatly empowered by the various expressions of Baal worship at its core.

You may recall a commissioning vision Rick Ridings received for the 13 Colonies Journey. He saw the spirit of humanism as a “don’t tread on me” snake, lying across the 13 colonies. A giant eagle swept down, broke the snake in two, and rescued an entire generation from the belly of the beast.

It is time for this breakthrough! Please review Jason’s insights with great care. Join the season of fasting and prayer. And join us Wednesday for a very special call.

MOVE AMERICA—21 DAYS OF PRAYER—by Jason Hershey

Jesus is Lord vs Humanism.Praying for a Harvest of Souls truly convicted to the core and for the binding of the strongman of humanism in America.

There have been many prophetic words given in the past few years about a massive harvest of souls in America and a thrusting forth of a wave of laborers into the harvest fields of the nations and spheres of influence.  I’ve heard prophetic declarations of “80 million being saved in America! 200,000 laborers being sent into missions.”  Most notable of these prophetic words has been Reinhart Bonke’s, “All of America will be saved.”

The Holy Spirit has quickened many through discipleship movements with schools of ministry, schools of preaching, teaching, evangelism, event planning and theology.  It seems that the Holy Spirit has been preparing his church to bring in that harvest.  Yet, at the core of all remains the question, have we become a people of true prayer? To quote E.B. Bounds   “A school to teach preachers how to pray, as God counts praying, would be more beneficial to true piety, true worship, and true preaching than all theological schools.”

1 Chronicles 7:14 states, “If my people who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and forgive their sin and heal their land.”

This call to turn back to real relationship with God, true prayer, evidenced in fellowship with the Holy Spirit has been heralded by many in America over the past several decades.  I hope that the constant heralding of that verse has not dulled our ear to the revelatory sound of it. Does the reality of that verse still move our hearts.

A year ago, our team of intercessors here in DC were just coming off a 45 day season of prayer when the Holy Spirit  highlighted to us a portion of scripture Acts 2:38- 2:43.  These six verses became our prayer.  For 21 nights we set our alarm clocks for 2:30am and would get up to pray these verses from 2:38am – 2:43am every morning.  We would then go back to bed.  Let’s read this together.

To put this scripture in context I will remind you that this is Acts chapter 2 at 9am in the morning of pentecost, just after Peter gets done preaching.

I will start reading one verse previous to Acts 2:38 for context

37 Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” 38 And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.” 40 And with many other words he bore witness and continued to exhort them, saying, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation.” 41 So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls.

42 And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. 43 And awe[e] came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles.

It was a prophetic moment every night as we would “wake up to” this scripture and gaze into the reality of what happens when God truly shows up.  We must tell the old old story of what happened that day at Pentecost.  This testimony should fuel our faith. After praying these verses every night, suddenly anything less than a Move of God and harvest like this, was unsatisfactory.

From those 21 nights until now, as I have pondered the House of America, in spite of all the current revival movements and encouraging testimonies, I am not satisfied.  I have not seen the revival that I’ve prayed for, and if you were honest, I suggest that you haven’t either.  It is tempting to be blinded by our measured successes as a church and be totally oblivious to the reality that our society is still spinning away from Jesus, not running back toward him.

This caliber of a move of His Spirit in America has become the obsession of my faith and prayers.  This window of verses has become my intercessory prayer worldview.

This is what I am praying for America.  I ask you to join me in these intercessions.

First let’s Pray for the Power From on High” to be manifest, so that the world will see and ask questions. When the fire fell and there was speaking in tongues, there was no question that something was very abnormal. “These men are drunk” was the accusation that set up Peters message to a hungry crowd, sincerely wanting to know what was happening.  No had to try to keep their attention or get their attention.  GOD DID BOTH.  We can strategize and plan events all we want, but WITHOUT GOD gathering the crowd, getting their attention and keeping their attention, our efforts will bring measured fruit.

Second Pray for Holy Spirit conviction  to come upon America.  In this Acts 2 window into revival reality, we see that the crowd was “cut to the heart” and aching to know what to do. We know that it is the Holy Spirit, who is God, that is the One that convicts the world of sin.  OH How we need God!  We MUST HAVE THE POWER and Conviction of the Holy Spirit!

God anointed his people, AS THEY PRAYED.  GOD gathered the crowd, got the crowds attention, kept the crowd engaged and convicted the crowd. God did it all. We need a move of God in America!  Not merely the movement of men.

Third, Pray for true conversions evidenced in immediate hunger. I have heard Winkie Pratney point out that babies are born hungry.  If in a day of birth, an infant child is not crying to be fed, it’s either sick or worse… dead.  Here in Acts 2:42 we see that the automatic posture of the breakthrough 3000, this group of 3000 new converts, their automatic posture was a devotion to the apostles teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.  It was an automatic switch.  They devoted themselves to the apostles teaching! There was no getting addresses and chasing down new believers trying to force feed them with follow-up.  NO, They were born again Hungry.   Like infants, new believers should be waking us up in the middle of the night because they have a question about Jesus and want to pray!

Last, Pray that God would remain Supernaturally in our Midst. Awe fell on every soul as many signs and wonders were being done by the apostles. The sick must be healed, the dead raised, the demons cast out.  We need God to move powerfully among us.  We need God.  We need God. We need God. Every single hour we need Him!

I believe that a The Lord of the Harvest does in fact have a huge jailbreak of souls waiting for the church of America to lay hold of.  Jesus once gave a teaching of plundering astrong mans’ house in Matthew 12:29.

“Or how can one enter a strongs man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man?  And then he will plunder his house.”

I purpose to you tonight, that if we are going to see this massive harvest of souls, we first must bind the strongman.  Tonight I will name him, explain him and make us aware, so we can properly identify him and bind him.

I just recently returned from a trip to Central Asia.  That region of the world, along with the middle east and northern Africa is quite obviously occupied by a strong man called “Islam.”  Yes, God is also moving there. There are many testimonies of the underground church in Iran, lots of former Muslims have had dreams of Jesus and many are coming to the faith.  Yet any honest glance at that region of world makes the obvious conclusion, the House of the Middle East is being occupied by the Strongman of Islam.  Islam is in leadership, control and the primary influence of those nations and cultures.

While I was there, I was partnering with local believers crying out to God for the binding of that strongman.  Even 1400 old strongholds are nothing for an eternal God when we pray! Amen!? While I was there though, I couldn’t help but feel, as an American, like I had a plank in my own eye, or a strongman in my house too.  If we are seeking to plunder the House of America gaining millions of souls, we best bind the strongman living in here.

The strongman of America is simply this: Humanism. As I’ve done my homework trying to get as much intel on this strongman as possible I’ve come up with a couple key hallmarks of his character.

1.  Humanism is an outlook or system of thought attaching prime importance to human matters rather than Divine and supernatural matters.

2.  Humanism is a system of thought, or action, which human interests, values and dignity predominate.  Not God’s interests. The end of all being is the happiness of man.

3.  Humanism is concerned with life on earth alone, what we can see, touch, taste, feel or hear.

4.  Humanism believes in science, reason, logic and human thinking as the source of fulfillment and truth over established doctrine or faith.

5.  Humanism denies any power or moral value superior to that of humanity.  It’s the rejection of God in favor of a belief in the advancement of humanity by it’s own efforts.

6.  Humanism believes that man is fundamentally a “good being” rather than “all have sinned.” and are fundamentally selfish, without Christ.7.  Humanism has man at the Center of the Universe not God.

This last point is the the point of it all.  Jesus, we know is seating on the throne of heaven, with angels circling around him that never stop saying “Holy.”  Jesus is the center of all of existence. Unfortunately the Gospel of many in the church of America has also become humanistic, with man at the center rather than God.  We must bind this strongman!!  We take captive any thought that sets itself up against the knowledge of God.

Galileo, in 1632, was imprisoned by the Pope on account of a book that he published that was suspect of heresy.  He was forced to renounce the content of the book and say his findings were wrong.  What was Galileo’s incriminating hypothesis?  The earth revolves around the sun! It would seem from the earth’s perspective that the sun revolves around the earth.  (Tongue in Cheek) “The heretic!  ‘Galileo, it’s obvious the sun revolves around the earth!’”

I know I may also be considered heretical but I must say that the church of America must have a Galileo moment.  God loves us so much, that it’s easy to think that we are the center of the creation -that God revolves around man.  Yet the truth is evident, that Jesus is the center, and all of creation will one day revolve around his throne.  Every knee will bow and tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.

As long a we preach a man-centered Gospel, rather than a God-Centered Gospel, the strongman won’t be bound. Jesus bound the the strongman in Jerusalem, when he let his humanity be crucified and rose again three days later.  This set up the Acts 2:38 move of God.

Up to now, most Gospel messages in America are focused on man’s need for salvation rather than God’s right on our lives. It’s more about man getting salvation, peace, hope, love and joy and a ticket into heaven, than man giving our lives to Jesus!  On the surface, sure, of course, “Jesus came to save us.”  It would seem that the Gospel is about our human need of salvation.  Just as “the sun revolves around the earth” seems obvious.

To bind this strongman, we the church, need to make a motivational shift in our hearts.  Why did we come to Jesus? If we came to simply get a freedom, peace, hope, joy and a ticket to the eternal dance, we must make a move.  It’s time to give ours lives to Jesus simply because we are rightfully his.  Are we not sheep of his pasture?  Our hearts must be moved!

This past week has been an extremely humbling week for Kimberlee and I.  The circumstances of life are such that we’ve been weeping easily, desperate for God to do something!  We’ve all had these moments I’m sure.  When it get’s bad enough, you can’t help but to get up in the middle of the night and pray!  You can’t sleep, you are burdened with the need for a touch from God.

Two verses were highlighted to me this week. Psalms 10:6 and Psalms 30:6.  Both carry the same prideful refrain, “I shall not be moved.”  This is the voice of humanism standing in rebellion to the reality of God.  First let’s read Psalms 10:3-6

3 For the wicked boasts of the desires of his soul, and the one greedy for gain curses[a] and renounces the Lord.

4 In the pride of his face[b] the wicked does not seek him; all his thoughts are, “There is no God.”

5 His ways prosper at all times; your judgments are on high, out of his sight; as for all his foes, he puffs at them.

6 He says in his heart, “I shall not be moved; throughout all generations I shall not meet adversity.”

You can see the humanistic thread here of one who renounces the Lord and says “There is no God.” I fear for America, that we have begun to think that we will not meet adversity. Have we begun to think that America, our system and structures of life, society and even churches and ministries are somehow unshakable?

Let’s read Psalms 30:6. Again to put it in context I will start with verse 4.

4 Sing praises to the Lord, O you his saints, and give thanks to his holy name.

5 For his anger is but for a moment, and his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning.

6 As for me, I said in my prosperity, “I shall never be moved.”

7 By your favor, O Lord, you made my mountain stand strong; you hid your face; I was dismayed.

The psalmist here addresses prosperity as the place he had put his trust, saying “I shall never be moved.” It’s even notable that it was the Lord’s favor that made him strong!  Yet he was humbled as God hid his face, he was dismayed.

If we think that America will always be the prosperous America, simply because we are, we are very mistaken.  If we think our Mega-church will always be successful, our ministry has built “sustainable revival” or our house of prayer will never crumble because we are master builders, we are mistaken.  God can move us, whenever he wants.  He is the center.

If we have trusted in man, our charisma, influence, prosperity, education or pedigree, rest assured, we shall be moved. Only upon the rock of Jesus Christ is anyone unshakable.

WE all know the verse, “Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.”  But I propose to you that unless God sustains and upholds the house, it will not stay standing.  What ever we have built can come down in a moment if Jesus is not in the center. Hebrews 1:3 says that Jesus upholds the universe by the word of his power.

Wow!  By the “word of his power” all things are upheld.  Again in Colossians 1:16-17 we read that Jesus was before all things and in him all things are held together.  Without Jesus, we have no concrete between the bricks of our house!  As long as the House of America gives hospitality to the strongman, humanism, the house will continue to fall. It’s time to bind that strongman, plunder his house with a God-centered Gospel and we will do it all from weakness.  We can’t dismantle humanism by the efforts of man.  That’s playing right into the Strongman’s hands.

It will be through the weak place of prayer, humility, seeking His face and turning from the wickedness of humanistic living, that we will see God move in America, Acts 2:38 style.

My friends it is time to be moved and to move.  If we don’t move with Him, we will be moved by Him.  We must say good-bye to the refrain, “I won’t be moved.”  This year is America’s 238th year birthday on July 4th. and it’s time for an Acts 2:38 move of God, that America will be born again.  I am calling for a 21 day, “Daniel” fast June 20 – July 10, right over July 4th to contend before God that America will be moved.  I’m calling it “Move America!”

In the book of Daniel, Daniel reads the prophetic word of Jeremiah that it was time for Israel to return back from captivity in Persia to freedom in their promised land. We in America have heard the words about America being saved!  Yet Daniel didn’t see that word coming to pass.  So Daniel humbles himself in fasting and prayer.

Daniel moved his heart into prayer and fasting, just as the psalmist did in both Psalms 10 and 30.  The book of Daniel is filled with moves!  Daniel moved to prayer. God was moved, An Angel was moved, The Prince of Persia was Moved! The heart of a king was moved, and Israel got to move back from captivity.

It’s time for America to move, but we must move like Daniel into the place of fasting and prayer.  I believe if we move, God will move.  Angels will move.  The Strongman will move, and we will get to plunder his house, like the days of Peter in Acts Chapter 2. Only a move of God will do, and for this reason we call upon him!  We must MOVE!!

For those that have grown weary in prayer and this call is falling upon a dull ear, because you have heard this trumpet before.  I implore you to remember how you felt the first time you were moved in your heart to pray for a move of God in America. I beg you to move your heart from a place of discouragement to a place of Luke 18  faith.  Move back into the address of the persistent widow.  We ought always to pray and not lose heart.

We are in this for Jesus, not us, right!?  Let’s take humanism to the cleaners.  Let’s pack his bags and move him out of our lives, to the curb, forever.  WE believe in God!  So we will pray!  It’s time to bind the strongman by putting all of our faith and trust, not in the efforts of man, but in a move of God.

Again, Our community here in DC will be fasting and praying June 20- July 10.   During these 21 days we will pack the bags of the strongman “humanism” and put him to the curb.  In prayer, We will pack the bags of the lost and move them from the house of the devil to the house of Jesus. In prayer, We will pack the bags of the laborers and pray for the Lord of the Harvest to thrust them forth into the harvest feilds!  We will pack our own bags of unbelief and selfishness and move into a place of fresh faith and Agape love for Jesus. We will pack our bags of depression, fear, rejection, and anxiety and move to a place of freedom, peace and joy, because Jesus is worthy of a free bride!  We will be movers and shakers in the spirit.  WE will move from passivity to actively chasing after God with our whole being.  Angels will be moved, demons will be moved, the hearts of leaders in this nation will be moved.  Do not say, “You will not be moved.” God is moving these days, so we must too.  It’s time to pack our bags and get… well…. moving.
