DEAR COVENANT WATCHMEN,
FIRST—THANK YOU for the warm tributes from so many of you remembering Marlene Brubaker. As a spiritual mom to Jolene and me as well as the Lamplighter family, she brought holy fire to all our lives. Lets continue to surround Bill and the kids in prayer.

DURING THIS SEASON OF UNLOCKING the Revelation Road, we have seen the Lord move with great intentionality to purify each of us personally for the journey. Ouch! No part of this process is easy. But that’s really the most important gift in preparing us for Him. Because as we genuinely seek revelation from the Lord, the pure in heart are the ones who get to see God (Matthew 5:8).

Today I want to share with you a very unique prophetic encounter. My prayer is that the Lord will impact you the way He has impacted me, forming a pathway from which to explore and advance.

Vision—Dentist with a Plumbline
One morning a week ago I immediately had a vision, before even beginning to pray. I found myself in a dentist’s office. Somehow I was watching the appointment from inside the back of my mouth. From the back of my mouth I saw my tongue, the roof of my mouth, and my teeth. Quite a view!

Immediately an elderly, gray-haired dentist approached me, wearing a bright headlamp. He shined his light in my mouth. I opened my mouth wide for him to examine.

The dentist put his hand to my mouth, an instrument in his hand. As the light shined I was expecting a tongue depressor. But instead he held a plumbline. He dropped the plumbline and examined my mouth intently. The disease he was searching for was deception. He looked at me, nodded, and simply said “passed.”

The dentist then stood up and moved to the next patient. The process was gentle but absolutely clinical and unbiased.

Immediately by the Spirit I saw how the Lord was now examining His prophets across the nation. There are no essay questions involved, nor any input sought from our end. We have no opportunity to explain our actions, intentions or ideas. It is literally a pass/fail test.

The plumbline for God’s evaluation of us comes from 1 Peter 2:22. “He committed no sin, nor was any deceit found in his mouth” (1 Peter 2:22). What a description of our Messiah! Even in his journey to the cross, Jesus never wavered. He never compromised. No false words ever escaped His mouth to try and influence others, prove His legitimacy or gifting, or to spare him from the trial at hand.

Cleansing from Deception
Can I ask you—has intentional deceit been found in your mouth? How about malice or slander? Betrayal? Are you greedy, as the apostle Peter warned, exploiting others through false words? (2 Peter 2:3) The Lord is issuing this warning to all of us. He wants to purify the mouths of His prophets so He in turn can bring greater revelation and warnings through the mouths of His prophets.

Remember this was the process mandated for Isaiah, the highest level prophet in the land of Israel. King Uzziah had just died. The entirety of Israel was enveloped in grief, debate and controversy. In this same year Isaiah saw the Lord. He was undone. And the primary issue God showed him was the condition of his mouth. “Woe is me, for I am undone. For I am a man of unclean lips and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips…” (Isaiah 6:5).

A people of unclean lips. American culture today, and even the body of Christ, is caught in an endless cycle of vitriol and retribution. That’s called uncleanness. Facebook, Twitter and other social media have become the primary battlegrounds where the war of words is played out. Cancel me before I cancel you…

Warning! Judge not lest you be judged…

The Prophets and the 2020 Elections
Speaking of which… in our own camp, many have judged prophetic leaders over seemingly misdirected prophecy surrounding the 2020 election. Whether the accusations are true is open to debate. But the most tragic fault of the prophetic movement was not what we prophesied, but what we did not prophesy about and warn about beforehand.

We warned as best we could. In fact our book White House Watchmen was written with this focus. But overall, we in the prophetic movement failed to warn of coming challenges ahead of time, even as America fell headlong into the most intense conflict, spiritually and naturally, in recent history. Far more prayer was mobilized after the election than before. And the consequences have been tragic.

But that’s not the big point. I feel compelled to bring this warning. The defiled words of many accusers have now exceeded the worst accusations they attributed to the prophets.

You must understand that with the 2020 elections, forces of darkness were not working just to overtake thrones of government. They were seeking to defile American culture. To traumatize and polarize our people beyond the point of no return.

And in the process, marginalize the body of Christ.

Take the Coal, Cleanse our Lips
Isaiah faced down a similar crisis. The man God had set on the throne was now out of the picture. Society divided accordingly. That’s when God visited Isaiah, and he realized his true condition. A seraphim was sent with a coal of fire to cleanse his lips. As with Isaiah, so it is with us. Lets welcome God’s purification process!

Seeing how the Apostle Peter provoked this conversation, lets let his advice set our course.

Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander, and like newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow in respect to salvation, if you have tasted the kindness of the Lord (1 Peter 2:1-3).

You are being Graded for an Upgrade!
Today, as of 2-22, you are being graded for an upgrade! But to gain God’s best, some of the behavior patterns tolerated in the last season now need to be changed. Jesus is our model. No deceit was found in His mouth. Let it be the same with you. Where needed, lets repent and return.

Because a great window of opportunity is now being unlocked. In this unprecedented season the Lord wants to entrust many of His friends with a higher level of revelation and authority. But this sacred gift also comes with a higher standard of holiness and a higher level of responsibility.

The pure in heart see God. Friends, the Revelation Road has now been unlocked, and you are entering the highway.
