December 7, the first night of Hanukkah, marks an historic convergence of two freedom legacies. Hanukkah celebrates the breakthrough of spiritual revolutionaries known as the Maccabees, who overcame the strongest known army in the world to recapture and restore their desolate heritage. They relit the Temple lamp or menorah to reconsecrate their sacred heritage to the Lord.
It’s time to be a Maccabee. If they can do it, we can do it!
Hanukkah this year converges with America’s entryway into World War II, when the Greatest Generation arose and gave their all to preserve Europe and America from the scourge of Nazi dictatorship. They rescued a perishing remnant of European Jews. They stood for the rebirth of Israel. And they preserved freedom’s torch for our own generation, and generations to come.
For Israel and America together, lets LIGHT THE NIGHT!
