DEAR MIDNIGHT WARRIORS,
As we start “Turnaround Tuesdays” once again, lets believe God right now for a revolutionary turnaround for the beleaguered nation of Iran. We are indeed in a season of spiritual revolution, a Moses movement which will bring deliverance to nations from the Pharaoh structure of dictatorship which has held His sons and daughters in bondage. Iran is very much on God’s heart right now. Pray for persecuted Christians in the land. Pray for a governmental shift empowering an enduring freedom! 

“Turnaround Tuesday… Trump?” I’ll never forget the headline of our posting two years ago, when God gave me a dream about Donald Trump winning the contract to restore the Department of Homeland Security. It was the first Tuesday of the new year. 

We had just completed an entire year of weekly prayer for our spiritual sons and daughters. We actually began privately on Christmas Day 2014, then launched into prayer with the Lamplighter family the first Tuesday in January 2015. Amazingly, on Christmas Day 2015 our son Jonathan received a penetrating vision—and returned to the Lord. With all of his heart!  

It was a genuine miracle. God had promised us that we would receive more miracle turnarounds into 2016 as we engaged in prayer for our families and nation. 

Protecting and Perpetuating God’s Turnaround
That turned out to be an understatement. Before we even initiated a conversation on who the Lord had chosen for the presidency of this promised turnaround, He introduced me to Donald Trump as His choice. In the dream my final words to him were, “Sir, you must restore Christmas!” What an incredible turnaround we have seen! 

It’s amazing to recount God’s goodness to us personally and to our nation. But we are right now at a point of vulnerability that could derail this turnaround before it ever matures. And it is largely unperceived. 

George Otis, Jr. drilled this into my heart and spirit back in the day. His research on transformed communities showed an alarming pattern. No matter how strong the revival, no matter how great the magnitude of God’s work in a region or a nation, the greatest miracles were generally followed by a horrible period of decline. And that decline, my friends, was directly correlated to a cessation of prayer.

In desperation, people prayed. God moved. Life got good. Life got busy. Programs replaced prayer. The fire on the altar dimmed. 

And life got bad.

In 2016, Christians across the nation realized the magnitude of the battle we were facing, and the very real prospect that we could lose the nation if wrong decisions were made and God did not break through. We together witnessed the greatest political turnaround in modern history. 

But 2018 is as important a pivot point as 2016, because in the midst of our hard-won success we are in danger of simply falling back asleep. No need to engage God with this level of desperation, we’re ok now. In truth, there’s a greater desperation in my heart than ever before. We are still too vulnerable. We must protect and perpetuate this turnaround. 

Lets resolve to see things through. 

Prayer for Trump Administration
I mentioned yesterday the absolute, immediate need to pray for President Trump, for Vice President Pence, for their families, etc. We’re going to cover this in depth tomorrow. But we cannot back down or go to sleep spiritually. Remember what we’re still up against! Get on the wall. Keep fervent in prayer. Continue to receive communion. Continue to decree God’s covenant, and the full release of the turnaround secured by this covenant restoration!

Final point on the governmental level. The number “18” in Hebrew means “life.” We really need to focus this year on preserving LIFE—including protecting President Trump, and including receiving the final breakthroughs for the governmental cessation of abortion in our land. WE NEED THIS TURNAROUND IN 2018!

TURNAROUND TUESDAYS! PRAYING WEEKLY FOR FAMILY & FRIENDS
And lets keep focused as well on turnaround prayer for our sons and daughters in the spirit and in the natural. I believe that this focused, persistent intercessory cry will become a strong foundation for the great awakening God desires to bring to your family, to your colleagues, to your world.

Below is an excerpt from the original “Turnaround Tuesday” posting, shared January 6, 2015:

“Today through the end of the year, we’re asking you to devote every Tuesday to targeted intercession for family and friends who need a turnaround from the Lord!

Turnaround Tuesdays. Easy to remember. Definitely has a ring to it!

Jolene and I want to suggest that you take every Tuesday to pray in a sustained way for your children, spiritual and natural, and for family and friends the Lord highlights to you. Don’t go broad, but instead be specific. God wants them to be redeemed and restored to the right path. He wants to grant them a turnaround!

A Time for Hearts to Turn
And in process, He wants us to become forerunners of a fuller release of the “Elijah anointing” this year. Remember that this anointing brings a turnaround. He turns the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to the fathers.

“Behold, I am going to send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and terrible day of the LORD. “He will restore the hearts of the fathers to their children and the hearts of the children to their fathers, so that I will not come and smite the land with a curse” (Malachi 4:6).

The gospel writer Luke quotes from Malachi in prophesying about John the Baptist. Remember that John was a first-fruit and prototype of many more forerunners as we draw near to the Day of the Lord.

“It is he who will go as a forerunner before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers back to the children, and the disobedient to the attitude of the righteous, so as to make ready a people prepared for the Lord” (Luke 1:17).

From now from the end of the year, lets devote ourselves to prayer for our children, our family, our friends. And in process, our very intercession will be forerunning the fuller release of this “Elijah anointing!”

The Turnaround Mantle—Breaking the Siege!
Lets close by exploring the impact this “turnaround mantle” can have. Sometime after Elisha received Elijah’s mantle, Samaria became besieged by a foreign army. It was so bad that people were starving to death—even eating their own children to survive. Suddenly Elisha appeared on the scene, and declared an end to the siege.

Friends, it’s important to see where and how your family and friends have been under siege—and where your children have been devoured. Maybe they’re fine physically, but in the spiritual realm no meat has penetrated through to nourish them. They are starving due to the void of God’s breakthrough intervention.

God wants to break their siege! And one authentic word from the Lord, backed by your intercession, can make all the difference.

It’s time to break the enemy’s siege! That’s why Daniel fasted and prayed for 21 days, as recorded in Daniel 9. It’s why we’re fasting and praying today.

Deliverance from Ungodly Counsel
When the prophet released God’s turnaround, one of the king’s officials protested. He nearly blew it for everybody.

“The royal officer on whose hand the king was leaning answered the man of God and said, “Behold, if the Lord should make windows in heaven, could this thing be?” Then he said, “Behold, you will see it with your own eyes, but you will not eat of it” (2 Kings 7:2).

Note that this is still happening today. We need to pray governmentally not just for our leaders, but for their advisors. For real. And we need to pray for our family and friends as well—that they receive the true counsel of the Lord and are rescued from the defiled influence of ungodly advisors.

When the Windows of Heaven Open…
Though the royal official mis-spoke, he still shared a primary key to any turnaround. The windows of heaven must open, and then the turnaround is released. And that is exactly what we’re after today.

The good news is that 2015 is a year of open windows (note that 2018 is a year of open doors!). Judgment is being rendered in your favor as you pray. And the armies of heaven will be released to enforce God’s verdict. Revelation 19:11 conveys this extraordinary process:

And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war… He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies which are in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, were following Him on white horses…
