DEAR FRIENDS,
Exhilaration is coupled with a tinge of sadness tonight as we fly out of Colorado Springs. We are leaving behind two adorable grandchildren as well as their seriously-heroic parents. I had honestly forgotten what the day to day challenges were like. Long hours, little sleep, double diaper duty, double car seat duty, 24-7 cleaning duty, countless unexpected expenditures, love poured out continually.
So to all the fathers and mothers out there, especially of young ones, Jolene and I just want to express our deepest appreciation for you. In raising your young ones, you are facing many societal challenges far beyond what our generation could have imagined. That’s in addition to what we’ve already mentioned, the sacrifices demanded, the complications faced, the conquests gained, the flashes of brilliance that remain hidden and uncelebrated. They are all seen by God. And you again have our respect and our prayers. Happy Fathers Day!
Finally Jolene and I would appreciate your prayers as we prepare for our interview with Jim and Lori Bakker this Tuesday. They are amazing pioneers whose legacy has shifted the body of Christ dramatically for the good. And the Lord has given them a powerful prophetic mandate for this hour, much of which is being played out before our eyes.
