DEAR FRIENDS,
ONE YEAR AGO DONALD JOHN TRUMP, PRESIDENTIAL CONTENDER, was in rare form at a rally in Butler, PA. Bombastic, off the cuff, hilarious at times, poignant in others, he was just getting started with his message casting vision for restoring America. The “big, beautiful crowd” gathered in the rural field roared their support. 

It was just one week before the Republican National Convention. Trump was pressing for a turnaround. He received much more than he bargained for, by the very hand of God. 

Turnaround—Evading a Sniper’s Bullet
Across the field, a sniper framed the once and future president in his scope. How he managed to elude both Secret Service and local police, while securing a perch such a short distance away, remains a mystery.

The sniper fired. At the very same time, wanting to cite statistics, Donald Trump turned his face towards the big screen. A bullet meant for his head instead grazed his right ear. He grabbed his ear and fell onto the stage as chaos erupted.

“Fight! Fight! Fight!”
Nobody could tell at that moment if he was even still alive. But thanks to a literal turnaround, the prayers of millions of “White House Watchmen” were answered. Trump arose, thrust his fist in the air and defiantly roared, “Fight! Fight! Fight!”

With Trump’s courageous response, every American gained renewed inspiration and a renewed respect for what really drives President Trump. Love him or hate him, nobody can question his genuine heart for America. 

Prophetic Warnings
It bears noting that the Lord gave us clear prophetic warnings to pray for President Trump against assassination attempts. Our book “White House Watchmen,” published in 2020, records the words and equips people to pray. In the book we even wrote about sniper sight lines while summoning the body of Christ to stand as spiritual “Secret Service Agents” for the protection of the president, and the office he holds. 

Jolene and I are so thankful for the countless watchmen who continue to contend in prayer today. The vigil MUST continue!

“I was Spared by God to Make America Great Again”
Trump himself credits God for sparing his life. His words are telling. After the event he posted, ”It was God alone who prevented the unthinkable from happening,” he stated. “We will fear not, but instead remain resilient in our faith and defiant in the face of wickedness!” 

In his election victory speech, he expanded on this theme. “Many people have told me that God spared my life for a reason… And that reason was to save our country and to restore America to greatness.” And on January 20, he summed up his sentiment with the plumbline mission statement of his life. “I was saved by God to make America great again.”

The Turnaround Today
Last week Jolene and I had the privilege of touring the White House. We saw for the first time the painting above of the famous “fight” photograph, memorializing God’s dramatic turnaround. More powerful than a photo can convey, the painting is stunningly displayed in the north entrance. 

Trump turned. America turned. The world turned. And what the enemy meant for evil, the Lord turned for good.

My friends, the turnaround continues today. Lets always remember our job in prayer is to help keep God’s turnaround advancing and on track.
