DEAR JUSTICE SOJOURNERS,
Jolene’s mother has been staying with us, and when the Inspector General’s report on the Clinton email investigation was released Thursday, I had only time to read a few headlines. So it caught me by surprise when, in the early hours of Friday morning, Holy Spirit awakened me to the phrase “Deficit of Justice.”

Seeking the Lord from our perch overlooking Washington DC, it was as if the sunrise itself was prophesying the dawning of a new day of genuine justice for America. I heard the Holy Spirit clearly speak to me, “I will overcome the Deficit of Justice!”

Remember we are in a season where the Lord has promised that His circle of covenant trumps, triumphs over, and prevails against the circle of Baal meant to confine—and even define—us. For this to occur in our nation, the Deficit of Justice must actually be conquered.

Lets explore this some today.

Present Evidence, Deny Verdict—The Cycle Repeats
I noted in Friday’s posting that a “deficit of justice” is not a complete denial of justice. But it is an incomplete expression. This is really important, and seemingly addresses both the content and the conclusion of the report.

Either by accident or on purpose, DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz seems to have literally repeated the very cycle which so alarmed the American public in the first place. You remember that two summers ago, then-FBI Director James Comey held a press conference to present clear evidence of Hillary Clinton’s sustained security breaches and mishandling of classified material. This was immediately followed by an unprecedented absolution of Hillary Clinton.

You might recall her absolution came within about a week of an equally unprecedented tarmac meeting at the Phoenix airport between the head of the Department of Justice, then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch, and former President Bill Clinton, wife of the Democratic presidential candidate.

Horowitz, like Comey, presented very clear evidence of sustained bias and injustice throughout his report. I’ll give you a few examples in a moment. But he then followed former Director Comey’s very same strategy and absolved the DOJ and FBI of any alleged political bias! This while while slamming former Director Comey in the report.

Here’s the apparent strategy. First, present clear evidence which demands a verdict. Then deny the verdict.

That’s a very strange mode of operation, especially by people tasked with law enforcement. But again, it’s the very same strategy employed by then-Director Comey in the face of clear evidence that Hillary Clinton continually breached even basic standards of security. My question is, WHY?

Evidence of Bias from the Report
A RECENT ARTICLE by the editors of the National Review clarifies that the evidence of bias by the FBI and DOJ in the Inspector General’s 500 page report unflinchingly clear. “The evidence of anti-Trump bias on the part of the agents who steered the Clinton probe… is immense. In fact, the most hair-raising section of the report, an entire chapter, is devoted to communications among several FBI officials (not just the infamous duo of Peter Strzok and Lisa Page), which overflow with abhorrence for Trump (“loathsome,” “an idiot,” “awful,” “an enormous d**che,” “f**k Trump”) and his core supporters (“retarded,” “the crazies,” one could “smell” them). More alarmingly, the agents express a determination to stop Trump from becoming president (e.g., Strzok, on being asked if Trump would become president, says “No. No he’s not. We’ll stop it”; and on being assured that his election is highly unlikely, opines that “we can’t take that risk” and that the bureau needs “an insurance policy” against him).” To read the full article CLICK HERE.

The Bureau needs an “insurance policy” against him. Could the insurance policy be the Russia investigation, which soon burst forth from the FBI with Strzok in a lead position?

“Fix It and Finish It”
Well… that’s what happened, anyway. “Strzok’s first reaction, upon hearing that Ted Cruz had withdrawn from the GOP race, leaving Trump as the de facto nominee, was that this meant the Clinton-emails probe had to be wrapped up (i.e., formally closed without charges). When the Trump-Russia investigation got rolling, Strzok commented that, compared to the Clinton-emails probe, this was the investigation that really “MATTERS” (emphasis in original). And here is Strzok the day after Robert Mueller was appointed special counsel, on the opportunity to join his investigation of now-president Trump: “For me, and this case, I personally have a sense of unfinished business. I unleashed it with MYE [Mid Year Exam — the FBI’s codeword for the Clinton Emails investigation]. Now I need to fix it and finish it.

Later in the same exchange he (Strozk) adds that this is a choice of whether he wants to be just another FBI assistant director or participate in an “investigation leading to impeachment.”

Fix it and finish it. An investigation leading to impeachment. Strzok’s own words bear witness to the exceptional bias which drove both the FBI’s apparent pursuit to vindicate Hillary Clinton—even before their investigation began—and then impeach President Trump.

You can’t make this stuff up.

Note that this is not conjecture, this is in the substance of the DOJ Inspector General’s report. Clear evidence, verdict denied.

But why? Ask yourself the question, why would the highest levels of leadership in the Department of Justice follow the lead of the disgraced former Director of the FBI by presenting to the American public clear evidence of bias and wrongdoing, and then declaring this very same evidence does not support a verdict of guilt?

Why would Comey have done this in the first place?

I suggest to you there’s something more going on. And I think we have to separate the evidence from the absolution to more fully discern. Because there’s every chance the conclusion was mandated by a higher authority—perhaps to protect someone, or something from the consequences of justice.

Comey and Horowitz are obviously extremely intelligent. Therefore their actions, though they seem at first exceptionally foolish, mandate a second look. By presenting such clear evidence and then drawing a false conclusion largely opposite of the verdict the evidence demands, perhaps they are in their own way compelling us to move beyond their limitations and continue pursuing genuine justice.

There’s more to the story. Blockages are in place you may not understand. Please follow through.

“I Will Overcome the Deficit of Justice!” Isaiah 59
Friends, that is exactly what the Lord intends to do. He has promised to overcome the Deficit of Justice. And as you will see, He seeks our engagement in fervent prayer towards this end.

Justice. Isaiah 59 really speaks to this. “No one sues honestly… Justice is turned back, and righteousness stands far away; for truth has stumbled in the street, and uprightness cannot enter,” the prophet intones. Sound familiar?

What’s next conveys Christ’s unrelenting resolve to overcome. “Now the Lord saw, and it was displeasing in His sight that there was no justice. And He saw that there was no man, and was astonished that there was no one to intercede; then His own arm brought salvation to Him, and His righteousness upheld Him.”

Time to intercede! Below is the entire chapter. Please let your spirit be refreshed by these incredible words. And be challenged to pursue Him more fervently for the Deficit of Justice to be conquered!

1 Behold, the Lord’s hand is not so short

That it cannot save;

Nor is His ear so dull

That it cannot hear.

But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God,

And your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear.

3 For your hands are defiled with blood

And your fingers with iniquity;

Your lips have spoken falsehood,

Your tongue mutters wickedness.

4 No one sues righteously and no one pleads honestly.

They trust in confusion and speak lies;

They conceive mischief and bring forth iniquity.

5 They hatch adders’ eggs and weave the spider’s web;

He who eats of their eggs dies,

And from that which is crushed a snake breaks forth.

6 Their webs will not become clothing,

Nor will they cover themselves with their works;

Their works are works of iniquity,

And an act of violence is in their hands.

7 Their feet run to evil,

And they hasten to shed innocent blood;

Their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity,

Devastation and destruction are in their highways.

8 They do not know the way of peace,

And there is no justice in their tracks;

They have made their paths crooked,

Whoever treads on them does not know peace.

9 Therefore justice is far from us,

And righteousness does not overtake us;

We hope for light, but behold, darkness,

For brightness, but we walk in gloom.

10 We grope along the wall like blind men,

We grope like those who have no eyes;

We stumble at midday as in the twilight,

Among those who are vigorous we are like dead men.

11 All of us growl like bears,

And moan sadly like doves;

We hope for justice, but there is none,

For salvation, but it is far from us.

12 For our transgressions are multiplied before You,

And our sins testify against us;

For our transgressions are with us,

And we know our iniquities:

13 Transgressing and denying the Lord,

And turning away from our God,

Speaking oppression and revolt,

Conceiving in and uttering from the heart lying words.

14 Justice is turned back,

And righteousness stands far away;

For truth has stumbled in the street,

And uprightness cannot enter.

15 Yes, truth is lacking;

And he who turns aside from evil makes himself a prey.

Now the Lord saw,

And it was displeasing in His sight that there was no justice.

16 And He saw that there was no man,

And was astonished that there was no one to intercede;

Then His own arm brought salvation to Him,

And His righteousness upheld Him.

17 He put on righteousness like a breastplate,

And a helmet of salvation on His head;

And He put on garments of vengeance for clothing

And wrapped Himself with zeal as a mantle.

18 According to their deeds, so He will repay,

Wrath to His adversaries, recompense to His enemies;

To the coastlands He will make recompense.

19 So they will fear the name of the Lord from the west

And His glory from the rising of the sun,

For He will come like a rushing stream

Which the wind of the Lord drives.

20 “A Redeemer will come to Zion,

And to those who turn from transgression in Jacob,” declares the Lord.

21 “As for Me, this is My covenant with them,” says the Lord: “My Spirit which is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your offspring, nor from the mouth of your offspring’s offspring,” says the Lord, “from now and forever.”
