Seemingly it never fails. When we step through the Gate, God always meets us with a word.

Before we share on this, here’s some good news. You also can meet God at the Gate. And you will more than likely receive a word!

The Gate I’m referring to here is actually a Saturday night gathering in metro Washington DC pastored by David and Tracy Ruleman. For years they’ve been known as the “Gate DC,” with a focus on moving in the Spirit and conveying His prophetic expressions. We are scheduled to minister at the Gate on May 17, a week from Saturday. Revolution at the Gate
”We need a revelation for the revolution, we need a revelation of the revolution!” This spontaneous chorus was being thundered by the Gate worship team during a recent visit. The song really caught me off guard, because our book “Crown & Throne” was termed by the Lord “A Field Guide for Spiritual Revolution.” Further, I had just been praying about the 13 Colonies Prayer Journey, a ministry tour through the states that originally fought and won the American Revolution.

God is releasing a spiritual revolution—a move of Holy Spirit awakening. And I believe this 13 Colonies Prayer Journey has literally been commissioned by God as a prophetic witness to this revolutionary move. Most of you know that in November, Rick and Patti Ridings commissioned us to move forward with an east coast prayer journey based on their original 13 Colonies prayer journey they facilitated more than a decade ago.

By My Spirit—a Time to Align With God
Since that time we’ve been strategizing and planning, even traversing the east coast from Florida to Massachusetts to connect with leaders and intercessors around this work. But to be transparent, both Jolene and I have been aware that our planning did not seem fully aligned with God’s birthing. “We need a revelation for the revolution” therefore became a literal word to us.

And when this prophetic song met my heart-cry, the result was a literal combustion. In that moment I “knew” the Lord wanted to frame the “revolution” with more revelatory breakthrough than we had yet received. “By My Spirit” was literally His mandate.

Not a coincidence that our “By My Spirit” prayer project began immediately after this encounter! Jolene and I cleared our schedule to be in “receiving mode” from the Lord for this upcoming work.

Vision—The Big Game
As worship continued at the Gate, the Lord began to answer this prayer by communicating a vision. Though the instructions through this vision are very personal, I believe the word has a unique, heaven-breathed directive for many of you as well.

I saw a vision of two football teams on the field, opposing each other. Both were dressed in white uniforms. They were playing in an empty stadium on a field perfectly prepared for the game. The yard lines were crisp, white and clear, the grass was radiant dark green. Everything had been diligently prepared for “the big game.”

The team with the ball seemed to be on the 60 yard line, a little more than halfway down the field. It was confusing to watch the plays, because again both teams were wearing white uniforms. Though they were different shades, the distinction was by no means clear enough to tell the teams apart—at least from my vantage point.

But I did notice that every time the quarterback threw the football, either the opposing team would block the pass, or the receiver would drop it. Every time!

Then the quarterback began to run the ball. As he burst through the defensive line, both teams suddenly began to run in the same direction! They ran together, with the opposing team ready to block all opposition right alongside the team running the ball! It was the craziest play I had ever witnessed.

And that was when I realized both sides were actually on the same team! Somehow they had simply been persuaded to oppose each other.

Gain the Victory!
I also “saw” by revelation how God was not blessing the passing game, but the running game. And it took the running game to bring the teams together, on the same side. Then I heard the Holy Spirit say, “When you begin to move, those opposing you will begin to run with you!”

Ouch. Have you ever received a word, a treasure, or mandate from the Lord, and tried to pass it to others? I sure have. Not so much out of disobedience but out of a sincere desire to prefer others over myself. Yet despite my best intentions, I’ve noted over years how complications often arose that would cause the ball to be dropped.

Here’s a prophetic word for you—and for me. Do not “pass” on the opportunities the Lord is entrusting to you. You might see others are more gifted or capable of handling the ball. But God gave the ball to you. If you simply take responsibility and move forward, you will gain the victory!

Friends, this is the first “revelation for the revolution” God wants to convey to us. Here’s the second. The “built-in” resistance to your project is from team members who don’t yet realize they are actually on your team. But in this season, once you get your initial breakthrough, you will gain momentum and they will run with you!

The key is the breakthrough—again, not by might nor power, “but by My Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.” As Zechariah 4 conveys, there’s a special grace from the Lord RIGHT NOW to complete the work that you and He have begun. Seek the Lord for strategy and timing. Pray through. AND MOVE, MOVE, MOVE! You’ll win the game… if you will simply advance at this hour.
