DAY 3: THE UNSHAKEABLE THRONE—PROMISES, PRIORITIES & PRAYER
For this prayer project, God is calling us together to focus on a few key promises He is highlighting for 2014. These promises are invitations with our names on them! We encourage you to embrace them in prayer with resolve throughout this project to maximize your experience. Amen!
Throne Room Vision
The first promise God highlighted for 2014 is from Isaiah 6. “In the year King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a Throne, lofty and exalted” (Isaiah 6:1). Just as Isaiah experienced an unveiling of God’s unshakeable throne in the year of King Uzziah’s death, so we are compelled to believe for the same within the year of our government shutdown. Now through the Feast of Tabernacles, and especially during this season, lets press in for what has already been promised to us! To perceive the Lord on His Throne, be centered before His Throne, and pray from our position before His Throne!
Upholding Covenant Boundaries
The second promise highlighted for 2014 is also from Isaiah 6. And that is Christ’s resolve to uphold and enforce covenant boundaries. Uzziah violated the separation of power between the office of the King and Priest. By this act he literally sought to usurp the priesthood and dominate its influence. And God cut short His reign. In the same measure, the Lord desires a continued expression of justice and discipline for those who violate covenant boundaries in our government, in professional spheres, and in family life. Amen!
Blazing Lampstands
The third promise highlighted for 2014 is that Jesus Himself will cultivate and protect our lampstand. Remember the vision of Jesus dressed in a red robe, cradling a menorah in His hands. As He wept and breathed in to the lampstand, a flickering flame began to blaze!
Jesus loves deeply, and wants us to blaze with the same fiery affection! He is restoring first-love passion and devotion. Lampstands also represent our positions before the Throne, and our ministry effectiveness. As Jesus called John the Baptist “the burning and shining lamp,” so He is beckoning many of you to draw closer and enter into the Elijah anointing. Pursue this promise now!
Exposing & Restraining the Usurper
The fourth promise highlighted for 2014 is that the Lord will expose, render judgement, and restrain the Usurper. He wants to do this personally and governmentally this year! In the recent prophetic encounter, the Lord spoke the words “the Usurper” and then conveyed that He is granting us the same verdict He gave Hezekiah against the Rabshakeh. This intimidating force, whose name means “Chief Prince,” literally demanded Hezekiah give up his throne, his city of Jerusalem, and become a captive of Sennacherib.
We must watch this year against an enemy trying to usurp our thrones, take over our cities, and make us a captive to the enemy again! Thankfully, God is willing to render judgment and bring breakthrough. Part of the Lord’s judgment was to release “the Angel of the Lord,” who then took out 185,000 enemy troops—in one day(see Isaiah 37).
Watch for dramatic breakthroughs and turnarounds this year as the angels of the Lord are released to enforce God’s great verdict in favor of the saints. Beloved, He can even do it in a day!
Just as God called for a breakthrough on abortion as part of His New Birth of Freedom in 2013, so He is calling for a breakthrough against the Usurper in 2014 as part of the Crown and Throne movement He has just brought to birth!
Exodus 23:20—I will send My angel before you…
This brings us to the final promise. God sent His angel ahead of Moses and the Exodus crowd who were advancing from slavery to freedom. Personally, I believe this was the same angel, often referred to in Scripture as “the Angel of the Lord,” who took out Sennacherib’s usurpers in a single day! Anyway, angels of the Lord have been assigned to go before us and prepare the way, enforcing God’s covenant verdict and awakening His people. Covenant, breakthrough, awakening… love it!
From Exodus 23:20-8: “Behold, I am going to send an angel before you to guard you along the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared. Be on your guard before him and obey his voice; do not be rebellious toward him, for he will not pardon your transgression, since My name is in him.
But if you truly obey his voice and do all that I say, then I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries. For My angel will go before you and bring you in to the land of the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Canaanites, the Hivites and the Jebusites; and I will completely destroy them. You shall not worship their gods, nor serve them, nor do according to their deeds; but you shall utterly overthrow them and break their sacred pillars in pieces.
But you shall serve the Lord your God, and He will bless your bread and your water; and I will remove sickness from your midst. There shall be no one miscarrying or barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of your days. I will send My terror ahead of you, and throw into confusion all the people among whom you come, and I will make all your enemies turn their backs to you. I will send hornets ahead of you so that they will drive out the Hivites, the Canaanites, and the Hittites before you.”
Note that each of these passages are key for this year. I believe it was Chuck Pierce who prophesied about God sending the hornets ahead of us to drive out the enemy! But I want to focus first on God’s first promise in the passage. He is sending His angel ahead of you, to bring you into the place He has prepared for you. Short term, long term, many of you are in transition as of this moment. The Lord is going before you to prepare the way. And isn’t it great news that He has already prepared a place for you!
Father God, we are so grateful for your generosity towards us. Thank you for your tender care! Now release your angelic hosts! We release your angels to have charge over us, and keep us in the way we should go.
Lord our first priority is that You make Your Throne our dwelling place. Make us like Your lampstands before the Throne, burning and shining lamps for Jesus! Make all these promises real to us, Lord, and help us to stand together according to Your word to see breakthrough in our lives and nation. Thunder through us in proclamation as we praise Your majesty. Deliver us personally and governmentally from the Usurper!
In Jesus’ Name, Amen! NO KING BUT JESUS!
