BAD LAW can be overturned, as Matt Lockett is quick to point out. Even if it’s a historical precedent.
As we move forward in this “New Birth of Freedom,” we are giving our all for a grassroots movement that shifts both culture and government. That breaks through what one intercessor termed, “the history line.”
What is a History Line?
First, some background. For this entire project, Jolene and I have been honored to host a vigil from midnight-3am with Matt Lockett and a few team members. Some Bound4Life intercessors across the nation have also been keeping this vigil. And last night, Matt was sharing how the Lord spoke to Florida team member Natalie Farber about history lines.
“It’s a word I heard Him impress on me of what we are breaking,” according to Natalie. “History lines are a PATTERN that history makes, that GENERATIONS KEEP FOLLOWING.”
At first she thought this meant re-writing history or defining new lines. But the Lord showed her the line is already set in place, and by God’s grace we are together breaking them. “Think of it like a generational curse that keeps getting passed down, or a pattern people can’t break,” according to Natalie. “We are breaking the usual history lines/patterns… we are breaking the generational curses!”
Blacks Not Citizens?
It’s hard to believe now, but “history lines” once defined a slave as 3/5 of a person, and blacks as literally ineligible for US citizenship or Constitutional protection. The Supreme Court verdict on the Dred Scott case literally validated this “history line,” upholding a common prejudice that defined blacks as less than human.
How times have changed. On Monday, our first black president is being inaugurated for his second term. And President Obama is taking his oath of office on the Bibles of Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King– two Moses whom God used to break through the “history lines” and set a new course for the land.
And I personally believe a Moses anointing is going to be accessible to all in Christ who desire to set a new course of freedom in this hour. Beloved, it’s time to break through the history line!
Babies Not Human?
Forty years ago this coming Tuesday, the Supreme Court set in place another history line that God is now intent on breaking through. They defined an unborn child as not a human being, devoid of the unalienable rights afforded to us in our founding documents.
I’m not sure if the nine Supremes had noted in their Bibles how two babies were stirred in the womb when their mothers connected. John the Baptist was filled with the Holy Spirit and leapt for joy when a very pregnant Mary came to visit. Yet Jesus and John were both in their mothers’ wombs!
Dear Supremes, what defines a human being? The ability to feel, to recognize and respond cognitively, to feel and display emotion based on feedback from another? LIFE–even in the womb–stirred life. What could be more human?
In the years since Roe v Wade, scientific discovery has literally exploded with the validation of the biblical truth that a child in the womb is as “human” as a child who has been born. They have emotions, they respond to their environment, they can process and learn. For this reason, in utero care of babies is now mandated by health care practitioners.
Filled and Leaping!
And in this season, LIFE is again stirring life. Many John the Baptists of this hour are again “filled and leaping” with a supernatural anticipation of Christ’s work. In the natural, it doesn’t really make sense. But something is coming. The history line is again about to be broken through.
