BREAKING NEWS—Donald Trump nominates Ben Carson for Secretary of Housing and Urban Development. Major answer to prayer.

Dear Jesus Revolutionaries,

We have so much to celebrate as we approach Revolution 2016 this week. Jolene and I look forward to connecting with you. And we greatly anticipate times together when Jesus moves in our midst, and sets our course for the coming year.

But with our anticipation there is also an unmistakeable sense of urgency. So come prepared to pray. We’re going to cover very important ground between now and then, including a special prayer call tomorrow evening in preparation for Revolution.

An overwhelming burden of my heart is the lingering prospect that America and the UN could still move to divide Israel. Lets delve into it today.

An Immediate Warning
President Obama signaled as far back as October that he would consider approving a UN Resolution mandating the division of Israel and Jerusalem before January 20, when his term ends. By this Obama was essentially forcing a stated goal to establish a Palestinian State, which his diplomatic endeavors alone were unable to secure.

Just last week it seemed we had a reprieve. The Obama administration signaled it most likely would not pursue the division of Israel through a United Nations Resolution. The threat seemed to have been resolved.

But personally the burden of my own spirit by no means disappeared. Comments made just yesterday by Secretary of State John Kerry seem to confirm the need for continued, intensive prayer. According to the Times of Israel:

Secretary of State John Kerry excoriated the Israeli right, claiming that support for settlement construction stems from a desire to subvert Israeli-Palestinian peace… (Kerry) notably refrained from committing to veto any UN resolution intended to establish a Palestinian state, only promising a veto “if it is a biased, unfair resolution calculated to delegitimize Israel.”

President-elect Donald Trump’s stated policy on Israel seems to be driving efforts to force this UN move before Trump assumes office. Last week former President Jimmy Carter summed it up in the New York Times:

I am convinced that the United States can still shape the future of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict before a change in presidents, but time is very short… The simple but vital step this administration must take before its term expires on Jan. 20 is to grant American diplomatic recognition to the state of Palestine…

The Security Council should pass a resolution laying out the parameters for resolving the conflict. It should reaffirm the illegality of all Israeli settlements beyond the 1967 borders, while leaving open the possibility that the parties could negotiate modifications.

UN Denies Jewish Heritage of Temple Mount
I’ll address Carter’s last statement later. But another warning light went off last week at the United Nations. Of the 193 states represented, 147 took extraordinary actions against Israel, voting to refrain from acknowledging the historic, covenantal connection between the Temple Mount and Judaism. The resolution honored the Temple Mount’s connection to Islam alone.

To purposefully invalidate Israel’s historic connection to the Temple Mount is essentially to invalidate God’s covenant with Israel itself. Which is precisely the point the UN is making.

Prophetically—What is God Saying?
Despite the efforts of this global confederation, God’s overarching mandate to America and the United Nations remains the same. Honor His covenant with His land and people. Do not violate the sovereignty of the nation of Israel. Do not seek to divide Israel or Jerusalem!

The Bible is very clear that many nations will be judged by God for dividing Israel, His covenant land (Joel 3:2). They will be held accountable. This is a real warning from God for the nations of the earth today.

Prophetically, I sense a warning that the efforts to divide Israel could even be formalized by Christmas. Interestingly, Christmas this year marks a historic convergence with the first day of Hanukkah. I’ll share more on this in an upcoming posting. But it was the horrific desecration of God’s Temple on December 25, 167 BC which sparked the immediate uprising against the occupiers of Israel by the Maccabees. Hanukkah commemorates their victory. And it marks the reconsecration of the Temple to the Lord by relighting the menorah after it had been snuffed out.

Note that the date we celebrate Christmas is the very day the enemy sought to overtake God’s Temple—His covenant—His Throne. I sense these are our supernatural enemy’s intentions in this hour as well.

But God brought a turnaround then, and He can bring a turnaround now. Lets come before His throne from every nation to legislate this. Remember Daniel 7:22. Judgement in favor of the saints, restraining an antichrist spirit and releasing the saints to possess the Kingdom!

Consider the Consequences
As I’ve covered in other postings, an effort impose the division of Israel and Jerusalem at this time would clearly bring detrimental consequences to the Mideast, perhaps even igniting a Third World War. Jolene and many other prophets have received warnings from the Lord of this prospect. War could actually be imminent if the wrong decisions are made.

  • Israel would of course refute the UN’s right to dictate the division of their nation.
  • Palestinians and Jews would be set against each other in a way never before seen.
  • The fragile alliance between Israel and Sunni nations seeking to counter Iran’s aggression in the Mideast would most likely be shattered. This same alliance is working together to defeat ISIS.
  • Shiite Iran and many Sunni nations could engage in war against Israel—and at the same time they engage against each other over the prospect of controlling the Covenant Land.
  • Intervention by outside nations or the UN could ultimately be considered a necessary step.
  • Nuclear warfare cannot be ruled out of the scenario. Keeping in mind Iran considers both Jews and the Palestinians as infidels.
  • In short, all hell could break loose—for no real reason than a premature attempt to force Israel’s hand in the peace process.

I don’t want to in any delegitimize the extraordinary challenges faced by the Palestinian people. But it is my conviction that the solutions to the complex issues faced to secure peace must come organically from Israel and the Palestinians. A grassroots movement apart from any outside agency claiming the right to violate Israel’s sovereignty to accomplish this end.

Which is why it pays to pray… right now!

Should Israel be Constrained to Pre-1967 Boundaries?
Final point. It seems many political elites are consumed with the idea that Israel should retreat to pre-1967 boundaries. Presidents Carter and Obama have echoed these sentiments.

That might be man’s plan. But is it God’s? The Word of God conveys His will. And absolutely nowhere does the Bible indicate that’s His plan.

Israel is the only nation God has personally claimed by a covenant He initiated with Himself. Throughout the Bible, God promises to regather the Jewish people who were scattered throughout the world and resettle them in this land. No limitations within the boundaries God claims as His own by covenant.

Keep in mind that between 70 AD and 1948, Israel had literally ceased to exist. Making all the unfulfilled prophecies of the Bible virtually impossible to comprehend.

That is, until Israel was suddenly reborn as a nation.

In context with this, Amos makes many startling promises which provide a very clear outline of God’s intentions. Beginning with the restoration of His people from captivity! Note that the promise of the restoration of the Tabernacle of David is given in context with the larger promise of restoring God’s people to their own land. I personally believe the prayer movement is set by God to fuel the larger restoration process. Amos 9:11-15:

“In that day I will raise up the fallen tabernacle of David, and wall up its breaches; I will also raise up its ruins and rebuild it as in the days of old; that they may possess the remnant of Edom and all the nations who are called by My name,” declares the Lord who does this.

“Behold, days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when the plowman will overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him who sows seed; when the mountains will drip sweet wine and all the hills will be dissolved.

“Also I will restore the captivity of My people Israel, and they will rebuild the ruined cities and live in them; they will also plant vineyards and drink their wine, and make gardens and eat their fruit.

“I will also plant them on their land, and they will not again be rooted out from their land, which I have given them,” says the Lord your God.

They will never be rooted out of their land. Ponder this awhile. And beloved, lets pray that the leaders seeking to force division of God’s covenant land would cease from this detrimental action.
