APRIL 18: REVOLUTION 2013–LIGHTING THE FREEDOM TORCH!

Jolene and I extend our heartfelt condolences and prayers to friends in Texas in the wake of the unimaginable loss suffered in last night’s explosion. We and the Lamplighter family prayed together for you last night, and we stand with you for recovery.

ON THE ANNIVERSARY of Paul Revere’s midnight ride, President Obama addressed a somber, fervent prayer vigil after Boston Marathon bombing.

“We will all be with you as you learn to stand, and yes run again,” said the President. “Of that I have no doubt–you will run again. You will run again, ’cause that’s what the people of Boston are made of!”

True that. President Obama then closed his message with a prayer. “Scripture tells us to run with endurance the race that is set before us. As we do, may God hold close those who have been taken from us too soon,” he said. “May He comfort their families. And may He continue to watch over these United States of America.”

Call me naive, but I believe there’s something significant about the President of the United States coming to Boston for a prayer vigil–on the anniversary of Revere’s ride and the American Revolution–and asking God to watch over our land. As we keep the victims of the tragedies in Boston and Texas in prayer, lets implore together that the Lord Jesus Christ continue to watch over our land.

Announcing Revolution 2013!
Exactly 238 years ago, freedom’s torch was lit and a midnight ride awakened Boston to the coming revolution. On this anniversary of Paul Revere’s ride, we are excited to announce “Revolution 2013,” a strategic partnership to catalyze Holy Spirit awakening in the 13 colonies and across the nation. As we have shared, we believe the time is NOW for Holy Spirit awakening, a spiritual revolution that redeems the dream of God’s heart for our land and government.

The Fire in our Torches
Our good friend Cheryl Amabile pointed out last night the correlation between the anniversary of Paul Revere’s ride–on 4-18–and Luke 4:18. I cannot think of a better prayer focus for this traumatic hour. As we run this race, this is the fire in our torches! Covenant blessings to each of you.

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim release to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free those who are oppressed,To proclaim the favorable year of the Lord” (Luke 4:18).
