DEAR WATCHMEN ON THE WALLS,
The prophet Isaiah admonishes us to keep watch, giving the Lord no rest, until He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth. Each of has helped fulfill this. As the Gregorian calendar marked the 70th anniversary of Israel’s rebirth, a profound ceremony marked an epoch-making honoring of Jerusalem as the capital of the sovereign nation of Israel. America became the first nation to relocate our embassy to the eternal city.
Lamplighter Ministries extends our profound gratitude to President Trump for following through on his courageous decision to make the embassy move. From our perspective, a stake has now been put in the ground which will cause reverberations across the globe. The decision even upends seventy years of diplomatic protocol, enforced by the United Nations, which from the inception of Israel’s rebirth covertly claimed Jerusalem as an international city under United Nations sovereignty.
My how times have changed.
An Embassy Before the Throne
“If you don’t like Jerusalem being the capital, take it up with God!” The renown candor of Lindsay Graham conveys a very clear truth. Throughout the scriptures, Jerusalem is proclaimed as both the governmental center of Israel—its capital—as well as the only city in the earth specifically claimed by God Himself as His earthly throne.
For the Lord has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His habitation. “THIS IS MY RESTING PLACE FOREVER; here I will dwell, for I have desired it! I will abundantly bless her provision; I will satisfy her needy with bread. Her priests also I will clothe with salvation, and her godly ones will sing aloud for joy. There I will cause the horn of David to spring forth; I have prepared a lamp for Mine anointed. His enemies I will clothe with shame, but upon himself his crown shall shine” (Psalm 132:13-18).
The Bible even conveys how nations will be drawn to the city, identified as God’s throne, in the days where His people are restored to the land. Prime Minister Netanyahu quoted today from Zechariah:
“Then the word of the Lord of hosts came, saying, “Thus says the Lord of hosts, ‘I am exceedingly jealous for Zion, yes, with great wrath I am jealous for her.’ Thus says the Lord, ‘I will return to Zion and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. Then Jerusalem will be called the City of Truth, and the mountain of the Lord of hosts will be called the Holy Mountain… Thus says the Lord of hosts, ‘Behold, I am going to save My people from the land of the [g]east and from the land of the west; 8 and I will bring them back and they will live in the midst of Jerusalem; and they shall be My people, and I will be their God in truth and righteousness” (Zechariah 8:1-8).
Jeremiah also saw this ingathering, combined with the nations coming to the city.
”At that time they will call Jerusalem ‘THE THRONE OF THE LORD,’ and all the nations will be gathered to it, to Jerusalem, for the name of the Lord; nor will they walk anymore after the stubbornness of their evil heart. In those days the house of Judah will walk with the house of Israel, and they will come together from the land of the north to the land that I gave your fathers as an inheritance” (Jeremiah 3:17-18).
All this said, the United States has now become the first among nations to make this shift. Literally establishing a diplomatic embassy before the Throne of the Lord. A demarcation in history has been accomplished.
A bridge has been built. Washington DC and Jerusalem are now vitally connected according to God’s covenant, divorced from idolatry. And friends, as many of you have labored decades in prayer for this miracle, so we now resolve to remain as watchmen on the walls for a better future for Jerusalem, Israel, and the Mideast. In the unseen realms a great cloud of witnesses is propelling us forward towards this same purpose.
We honor each of you for your stand before God’s throne. Let us now resolve to keep the torch burning… for Zion’s sake.
