Days of Awe 22: Choosing Freedom

“It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery” (Gal. 5:1). Welcome to the first day of fall! And to the final posting of our “Days of Awe” prayer project. What an incredible time it has been. We will of course continue praying and posting throughout Davids Tent–just not posting on an every day basis! So the vigil continues–for Davids Tent, for America and for Israel. Praise God! Dream: Sept. 1-22 We began this vigil reluctantly. God had spoken to Jolene in a dream that between September 1-22, something is coming that would affect every household in America. We felt to stand before the Throne and ask for mercy, that the enemy’s attempt to “X out” our land would be lessened or thwarted all together. Remarkable that on 9-11-12, two US consulates were attacked in events hauntingly similar to the Iranian revolution of 1979. Our Libyan ambassador and three others were murdered. After years of American policy promoting toleration, compromise, and diplomacy, the true face of radical Islam has again been unveiled to the American people. Emancipation Proclamation Today! These events have set in motion a severe challenge to freedom both here and in the nations. Nations we have freely given to, with hopes of mentoring in freedom and democratic governance. Some would call our...

Days of Awe 21: Choosing the Tabernacle

“Light the lamps and pitch the tents, for this year I tabernacle with My people!” We had just crossed over into 2012, ministering with our friends Becky and Allan Greenstreet in Danville VA when Holy Spirit spoke this to me. I literally trembled. There is an open heaven there, and we love to hear and experience the word of the Lord. At the time, moving to DC was not even on our grid. Davids Tent wasn’t on anybody’s grid, except possibly for a young dreamer named Jason Hershey. Today, we are only four days away from 24/7 worship and prayer on the White House Ellipse from Yom Kippur til election day, November 6! God spoke to us in the beginning of this year not only to prepare us, but to give us expectation of what is to come. HE DESIRES TO TABERNACLE WITH HIS PEOPLE THIS YEAR! Those who signed on to be Davids Tent intercessors heard yesterday how the Lord came through for us with the National Park Service. They have been great to work with. TODAY THE PERMIT IS ISSUED! Days of Awe, Days of Decision Remember how the Days of Awe are key days to align with the Lord for the future. Jewish tradition holds that God writes His destiny for individuals and nations on Rosh Hashanah, and seals His verdict on Yom Kippur. During the...

Days of Awe 20: Choosing the Lampstand (Zech.4)

To choose the Lampstand is to choose to return to “first love” devotion to Jesus. This admonition, found in Revelation 2, is the most important choice we can make in these Days of Awe! Everything else literally pales in comparison. Please take time now to set your heart before God’s throne and make this dedication. As you will will see, in hearts and from region to region, God is resetting the lampstand and relighting the flame. I was awed–delighted–to receive an email from Chuck Pierce about the Glory of Zion gathering tonight. THEY ARE LIGHTING THE LAMPSTAND! (You can watch at www.gloryofzion.org). It’s important to know we really seek the Lord from day to day about what to share. We want to align with His governmental release of His word and work. Does this make sense? That to say, we didn’t plan for this message to synergize with Chuck’s gathering. But God sure did! And I really believe that today marks a new season we’ve been praying into for a solid year. It’s time for His lampstands to be reset and relit! Note that Zechariah 3 and Zechariah 4 are sequential passages. To an extent, the Zechariah 3 cleansing, consecration and commissioning unlocks the movement of Zechariah 4, where the golden lampstand appears. But mandates cannot be fulfilled without the Spirit bringing them to birth. Though we’ve touched on this reality throughout...

Day 19: Choosing the Prayer Movement (Zech. 3)

TONIGHT! Prayer Call 9pm EST. Consecration for Davids Tent with special guest Martin Frankena! Martin is hugely gifted in healing, deliverance and the prophetic. Conference call number: 530-881-1400 access code 903-586. Use *6 to mute/unmute. Invite your friends to join us. WELL–Shofar, so good. Ha! A little Feast of Trumpets humor here. Remember how these Days of Awe are days of decision. Jewish tradition holds that the Lord writes His verdict for each person for the coming year on Rosh Hashanah/ the Feast of Trumpets. His verdict–His destiny–is sealed in the “Book of Life” on Yom Kippur. During the days in between–the 10 Days of Awe–adherents believe that His verdict can be changed for the better by repenting and realigning with God’s heart and covenant. So far we’ve presented God’s invitation: To choose Israel To choose the grace of giving To choose opening our hearts Today we’re going to explore choosing the prayer movement. Really we are choosing not only a prayer movement, but a consecration to function within this new move of God. So fasten your seatbelts, and lets get moving! Yom Kippur–Day of Decision Davids Tent launches next Tuesday on Yom Kippur–the holiest day of the Jewish faith. Also on Yom Kippur, Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmedinejad is scheduled to address the UN. Somehow, on a day where Jews believe God’s verdict for people and nations is sealed...

Day 18: Rend Your Hearts

Update from Jason Hershey: Last week Davids Tent was at $50,000, facing giant expenditures for power, tent, sound, logistics, etc. As of today, $37,000 more has come in–a total of $87,000! This is an absolute miracle. To all who have given in prayer and in funds, we are beyond grateful! THANK YOU JESUS! Our next prayer call is Wednesday night at 9pm EST. Conference call number: 530-881-1400 access code 903-586. Use *6 to mute/unmute. Invite your friends to join us! Choosing Your Heart For the past few days, we have explored choices God is encouraging us to make in this season known as the Days of Awe. Each of these decisions are vital to securing God’s “homeland security.” We have heard His call to choose Israel, and His invitation to embrace the grace of giving. Today we’re going to again explore our alignment with God. A passage from the Book of Jolene–ok, I mean Joel–really comes to mind. But Jolene totally could have written this! With crisis looming over Israel, the prophet Joel admonished his generation to return to the Lord with fasting, weeping and mourning. “And rend your hearts and not your garments. Return to Me…” (Joel 2:13). Many will find this choice the toughest of all. But within the grace of opening our hearts, authenticity and purity are recovered. We again see God. And that is what matters...
