It’s been quite a week in Washington DC already. FBI Director James Comey has just been fired by the Trump administration, according to news reports. This follows his testimony last week during hearings before a Senate subcommitte. It also follows Senate hearings just yesterday with James Clapper, former Director of National Intelligence, and Sally Yates, former acting Attorney General, regarding Trump’s former NSC advisor Michael Flynn and Russia’s attempt to influence the US elections.
Director Comey has been at the forefront of this investigation. Remember that he was also criticized by both sides of the aisle for publicly reopening the Hillary Clinton email case just before the Presidential elections. “It makes me mildly nauseous to think we might have had some impact on the election. But honestly it wouldn’t change the decision,” Comey testified last week.
This plot has as many twists as a good spy novel. That said, please keep President Trump and the administration in prayer. Lord please make clear Your choice to lead the FBI into this new season, in Jesus’ Name! Also please pray for Director Comey and his family as he returns to the private sector.
