“Why Did You Write This Book?”
I was stopped in my tracks last week by the easiest question an interviewer can ask. Larry Sparks, who spearheads Destiny Image, was interviewing Jolene and me at the National Religious Broadcasting Convention. He waited patiently for a profound response. I just smiled at him, trying to think of something more to say than the first thing that came to mind.
“Why did we write the book? Because your representative told me to!”
Totally true story. Not the whole story, but it’s true. Destiny Image rep Tina Pugh suggested we write a book on the end times. I thought she had really missed it. But because Tina genuinely hears the Lord, I decided to take it seriously. To my astonishment God’s confirmation was immediate. It came in the form of a flash of Tel Megiddo, otherwise known as Armageddon, and the vision Jolene had there of a grandfather clock at ten minutes to midnight.
When she received the vision, Jolene immediately knew a midnight hour was coming for Israel and America. The ten minutes were given to pray and prepare. Note that ten months later almost to the day, Israel was thrust into her most dire calamity.
The next day we ventured to the Jordan River. Our team—Ed Watts, Jamie and Redonnia Jackson, Mike & Cheryl Tyler, Jolene and me—together picked up two mantles representing a double portion of the Spirit and power of Elijah.
And these two experiences became foundational to on our most ambitious book project to date. And likely our most important.
Increase Your Faith!
Though many Christians focus on the end times, few have faith for their roles in the end times, especially as catalysts of breakthrough. This book will infuse you with genuine faith based on clear biblical revelation. We hope to inspire and equip you to receive God’s “real-time” revelation for yourselves, to direct your path and your prayers. Through all of this we hope to equip you to receive tangible results.
And really felt the Lord saying to raise a standard for the body of Christ. It’s clear a course correction is needed, especially in the prophetic and prayer community, if we are going to advance through the challenges ahead.. It’s time to come up higher. It’s time to gain a new level of accuracy. It’s time to make covenant great again!
The Lord is returning us to:
- A focused, fiery devotion to Jesus leading to a poured-out life for Him. Especially in this season, God wants to rescue our lampstands of first-love devotion!
- Uncompromised covenant with Christ in our personal lives, in our marriages, our ministries, and all other spheres of authority as the foundation for the turnarounds God wants to grant. It’s time to MAKE COVENANT GREAT AGAIN!
- An understanding of the times. Especially where misunderstandings of the end times has knocked you out of His divine timing, you need to be synched back up with His Throne Room timing!
- A higher standard of accuracy in the prophetic. No prophet gets it right all the time. But at the same time it is scary how many in the prophetic movement have compromised. Jeremiah 23 lays out a clear standard. And we must genuinely gain His revelation again to impact our world.
- A higher measure of discernment. Jolene’s chapter on “Treachery and Trickery in the End Times” is SIZZLING. This chapter will equip you to mature in discerning and avoiding traps from the enemy.
- Genuine forgiveness—and the healing and freedom that genuine forgiveness brings.
- Genuine teshuvah—and the healing and freedom that genuine repentance brings. It’s time to finally move beyond the pain of betrayal! It’s time for the broken altar of prayer to be cleansed and repaired so that the hearts of God’s people can be genuinely repaired. So that idolatry can be purged. So that sons and daughters can finally come home.
- Finally, for this posting anyway, it’s time to return to a basic understanding of God’s destiny for the United States of America. Remembering that our covenant with Christ secures our destiny! Our great task is to keep that which is entrusted to us.
