As we celebrated New Year’s Eve this year in Lake Mary, Florida, I was very stirred by a message given by a longtime friend of ours in ministry. Randy Demain talked about 2015 being a year of massive deliverance and salvations. He spoke of the youth of today and their love of the supernatural that the enemy has taken advantage of. They are being taken in by demonic realms of the supernatural in greater and greater measures. He spoke about Elijah and Elisha, and the supernatural release of God’s power needed to attract the Elishas of today. It’s time the next generation engages in spiritual warfare with us as the mothers and fathers working alongside them.

2015—Time to “Up Your Game”
Our friend then made a very impacting statement that I’ve since heard from others as well. The Lord has challenged him that he must “up his game” in the Spirit for 2015. That he had to double his capacities to father this next generation.

The reason this comment impacted me so much is because of the integrity and strength of spirit that our friend walks in. To me he has always been a modern day version of a Daniel. So if the Lord is telling him that he needs to “up” his game for 2015, then we all  probably have a way to go!

Daniel Fast—Pursuing Excellence of Spirit
As I was pondering these things the Holy Spirit whispered to me. “The body of Christ has been discipling others out of a wounded soul instead of an excellent spirit.”

The statement hit me like a ton of bricks because of the truth of it. We all do the best that we can do in and of ourselves, but so often the power of Christ in us to produce glory in others is lessened by our wounds, dysfunction and lack of godly discipline. Sometimes we end up defiling the very treasures God wants to refine!

The prophet Daniel was known for having “an excellent spirit” (Daniel 6:3). I saw the impact God wanted us to pursue in the Daniel fast that we began on the fourth of the month. All along I knew we were supposed to be doing a Daniel fast, but suddenly I knew it was much more than just the “eating of our vegetables” that the Lord was after. He highlighted to me that I needed to press towards an excellency of spirit like Daniel did.

I knew that I was to eat the book of Daniel in this season and to focus my attention on the ways of Daniel from the scripture. This is probably an invitation to everybody. Another invitation for us all is to again embrace discipline and refining in our lives, pursuing excellence in who we are and all we do.

It is a very serious time we are entering into and we as the body of Christ are being put into a season of “Daniel training” so that the excellence in our spirit can rise above the wounds of our soul.

2015—Kings Will Have Warning Dreams
I want to share with you some of the insights the Lord has impressed upon me from my studies in Daniel. One of the first things the Lord spoke to me was that 2015 is going to be a year where kings, or rulers, are going to begin to have warning dreams. It is a year where many in key leadership positions in our country and others are in danger of being deposed from their thrones. The Lord is warning many ahead of time through dreams, addressing pride and other ungodly aspects of their leadership over the people.

This is an overall theme of the book of Daniel. Nebuchadnezzar has a series of dreams. And he needs someone to not only interpret the dream but he requires that the wise men actually tell him the dream, detail by detail. Daniel 4:4:

I, Nebuchadnezzar, was at rest in my house, and flourishing in my palace. I saw a dream which made me afraid, and the thoughts on my bed and the visions of my head troubled me. Therefore I issued a decree to bring in all the wise men of Babylon before me, that they might make know to me the interpretation of  the dream. 

I believe the reason that he wanted the dream given by someone else is that he found it hard to believe that he was being brought down from his throne. That the Lord had declared in his night visions that a stone was being thrown at his feet, and a tree was being chopped down and both those scenarios referred to him. I think he wanted to make sure it was an accurate dream and someone else can authenticate it for him.

The King’s Decree—Turn the Tables!
Talk about a turnaround mantle being sent forth! The tables were turned on the evil king. He was at rest and flourishing while he subjugated all the people of his kingdom. In other words fat and happy in his palace while making ungodly decrees over the kingdom and his people.

Then the Lord began to make decrees of His own such as “Chop down the tree.”  Suddenly the tables are turned and he is now the one being afraid by what he sees.

This is a year where those who have made decrees that have terrified the people are going to have the tables turned on them.  For a long time, prophets in the land have been having dreams about what has been being done to us. Now the dreams are going to be released in large part to those actually in authority. Declaring what their future is going to be unless they repent and turn from their wicked ways.

And in this season we are going to need a company of Daniels that will be able even to interpret dreams for the kings. The interpretations themselves will announce the Highest King’s decrees.

What a time to live for Jesus! And what a time to “up our game” and gain the excellency of spirit that will help usher in God’s turnaround.
