IS AMERICA BEING HELD HOSTAGE through the government shutdown? Is it, like, a trick-or-treat moment? Rep. Hakeem Jeffries seemed to convey this sentiment after rejecting efforts by House Speaker Mike Johnson to negotiate stopgap measures.
“They want to starve the American people,” Rep Jeffries directly asserted, “as part of their continuing effort to bring cruelty on everyday Americans!”
Since the beginning of the shutdown Rep. Jeffries and Sen. Schumer have declared Republicans are completely to blame for the shutdown. But accusing party leaders of seeking to starve Americans receiving salaries or support from the government goes far beyond even heightened civil discourse. It is actually the rhetoric of civil war. With tactics employed to hold America hostage to their will.
Note as a veteran leader in Washington DC, seasoned in both political friction and fiction, I rarely make such comments.
Halloween Showdown Intentional?
On our Wednesday evening prayer call the Lord gave revelation that was equally sobering. Globalist forces tied to the occult were working towards a Halloween showdown over the government shutdown—really over the future of the nation.
In short, it was “trick or treat” time more than one way. With invocations of occult forces empowered by dark covenants seeking to reclaim their hold on America.
Sounds too farfetched? Kind of like a comic book? Maybe. Except that such a ploy would HAUNTINGLY parallel a similar “trick or treat” power play initiated by Nancy Pelosi on Halloween 2019. That was the date she chose to announce intentions to impeach President Donald Trump.
I wrote about this action in White House Watchmen. Just a few days earlier a story in the Washington Examiner detailed how occultists had vowed to curse Donald Trump until he was brought down from his office.
Rep. Pelosi’s Halloween announcement came right after. A congressional leader later affirmed that the October 31 date was purposeful, and that even the phrase “trick or treat” was used privately in conjunction with the public announcement.
What are the stakes today?
Security Breaches, Subversion and Sabotage
We were exploring this subject a few days ago in a private prayer call with other prophetic leaders when the Spirit of the Lord brought us together a clear alert. Each of us received a revelatory portion of this alert.
I brought out that the effects of the shutdown on the intelligence community have allowed for significant breaches in our security. Essentially, short term threats were still being mitigated by “essential personnel” but those addressing long term threat assessments were largely sidelined due to the shutdown.
While sharing the warning, Timmerle Kelly heard a clear confirmation from the Lord.
“As we discussed the shutdown and the effect on the intelligence community, I saw the word “subversion” and then the word “sabotage”.
“According to Webster’s dictionary, subversion is a systematic attempt to overthrow or undermine a government or political system by persons working secretly within. The Cambridge Dictionary’s definition of sabotage is to damage or destroy equipment, weapons, or buildings in order to prevent the success of an enemy or competitor; to intentionally prevent the success of a plan or action.”
“Both of these words indicate something happening behind the scenes. The longer this shutdown goes on, the more we should be asking ourselves what the real reason is. We should be actively praying against any plans being designed behind the scenes to cause social upheaval in America.”
Amen Timmerle. Pray against sabotage and subversion. Please continue keeping vigilant watch in DC and our nation against terrorist threats as well. And keep covering our military and intelligence communities.
As our private prayer team prayed over this, one friend texted: “I’m feeling the need to move into fasting!!! We desperately need the Lord of the breakthrough to show the power of his mighty right arm. We reject all strong-arming in Yeshua’s name.”

Lord of hosts, we ask that You annul all covenants with death and hell through the blood of Jesus, restraining all forces invoked behind the scenes to influence our leaders and further empower national dissent, division and chaos (Isaiah 28). Expose all plots of subversion and sabotage. Release Your wisdom, direction and courage to leaders. We declare Your shalom over Washington DC, granting a clear pathway to end the government shutdown in a way that blesses every American. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
