DEAR LAMPLIGHTER FAMILY,
A WALL OF FIRE—That’s God’s promise to us. As we take refuge in Him, He will be a wall of fire about us and glory in our midst. As Chuck Pierce has recently pointed out, it is imperative for us to focus on establishing His shelter through this season of vulnerability. Psalm 91 provides the promise. As we continue to dwell in the secret place of the Most High, His protection is invoked for our lives and world.
Which is good news because across the nation an unholy fire is raging virtually unabated. Monumental wildfires are raging across the entire West Coast right now, consuming even entire towns. Meanwhile in the political world, the fire of accusation and vitriolic abuse has continued virtually unabated. None of the voices seem very concerned that the devouring force of their rhetoric is bringing our nation to the precipice of division.
And the tongue is a fire, the very world of iniquity; the tongue is set among our members as that which defiles the entire body, and sets on fire the course of our [a]life, and is set on fire by hell (James 3:6).
