LIBERTY SQUARE, SAN DIEGO. Early clouds are breaking, and the sun is beginning to shimmer across the harbor. I’m writing you from Starbucks today. It was great to walk in and see an American flag on display!
Speaking of American flags, they are at half mast today to honor Pentagon officer George Gonzalez, who succumbed to stab wounds while apparently taking down an active shooter yesterday morning. Details remain sketchy. But thanks to his alertness and vigilant response, many lives were saved. Our prayers are with his family as well as other victims of the incident.
Report Details Cuomo’s Sexual Harassment Allegations
Yesterday New York Attorney General Lelita James released a report detailing investigations into Governor Andrew Cuomo. To me it’s extraordinary that the report was released during the Ancient of Days tour, as we bear witness together to Heaven’s vjustice in favor of the saints.
Friends, we are seeing a true justice turnaround. And it’s thankfully void of unjust leveraging and partisan overtones of either bias or subversion. The state of New York, and America as a whole, owes a debt of gratitude for the example set by AG James.
He Brings Down Rulers from their Thrones
As we noted in a previous posting, our book White House Watchmen contains a warning to both Governor Cuomo and the state regarding defiance of the Lord. In chapter 5, “Forged in the Valley,” we warned how leadership was bringing unjust expressions of governance to the Empire State, resulting even in a decision by the governor and legislature allowing “abortions” after babies were born! In a prophetic experience a very clear parallel was drawn between this decision and Pharaoh’s mandate to slay the firstborn of all the Jews, as recorded in Exodus 1:22. From chapter 5, Forged in the Valley:
The following prophecy is taken verbatim from our posting on April 17, 2019. “I (Jolene) saw during worship how God has been dealing with abortion in America in a way that’s similar to how He dealt with abortion in Exodus… You have to understand we’re going into an extended season of Passover, not just a week of Passover. It means God’s work is going to be through an entire time period until He is done dealing with this spirit of death through abortion in America!…
We know Passover as God’s response to the injustice of slavery against His covenant people. But have you ever seen the correlation to abortion? Exodus 1:22 describes how Pharaoh mandated all the firstborn of the Jewish people were to be aborted. Pharaoh’s clear intention was to subjugate God’s people through the imposition of horrific trauma.
According to Exodus 2, God responded by bringing the groanings of His people into a Courtroom hearing and rendering a verdict which would speak into each successive generation. LET MY PEOPLE GO…
Remember, the Passover Lamb is also the risen King, dedicated to establishing justice in the earth. As Jesus’ mother Miriam observed, “He brings rulers down from their thrones.”
Gov. Cuomo’s seeming lack of reverence for the Lord has been consistently communicated. We continue to pray the Lord encounter Governor Cuomo in the midst of the crisis now unfolding. We pray his heart will soften, and he will genuinely discover the heart of God.
Travail for Turnaround
Friends this brings up a really important key to our intercession before the Throne which, in His time, releases justice in the earth. Your tears are powerful. Your groanings bear witness before the Throne. Your travail brings to birth God’s covenant purposes from the Court of Heaven.
So let this verdict encourage you. More than lofty exhortations, it is time for Heaven’s Court to hear the voice of your tears. It’s time to enter into travail for turnaround.
In yesterday’s posting we shared how outbursts of travailing prayer directly preceded sustained revival in both the Second Great Awakening and the Jesus movement. In this posting we showed how the groanings of God’s people in bondage to Pharaoh were presented in a Courtroom hearing presided over by the Ancient of Days, resulting in an unprecedented verdict. Let My People go! It is the very same in this hour.
Here’s just one more biblical example. I believe we are touching the reality of this verdict from Heaven even during our tour. Note that the Apostle John was caught up before the Throne. He was in Heaven. Yet HE WEPT when he saw how the scrolls of humanity’s redemptive justice remained sealed because nobody was found worthy to open them.
John’s weeping was met with Heaven’s response. Revelation flowed. A decree was governmentally released. And we are living it out today. Including redemption for every tongue, tribe and nation. And the release of kings and priests in the earth!
I saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne a scroll written inside and on the back, sealed up with seven seals. And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and to break its seals?” And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll or to look into it.
THEN I BEGAN TO WEEP GREATLY because no one was found worthy to open the scroll or to look into it. And one of the elders *said to me, “Stop weeping; behold, the Lion that is from the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has overcome so as to be able to open the scroll and its seven seals.”
And I saw between the throne (with the four living creatures) and the elders a Lamb standing, as if slaughtered, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are [d]the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth. And He came and took the scroll out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne. When He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each one holding a harp and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. And they *sang a new song, saying,
“Worthy are You to take the scroll and to break its seals; for You were slaughtered, and You purchased people for God with Your blood from every tribe, language, people, and nation.You have made them into a kingdom and priests to our God, and they will reign upon the earth.” (Revelation 5:8).
