DEAR FREEDOM WATCHMEN,
“THE FUTURE BELONGS TO THE BRAVE, the strong, the proud and the free!” On July 4, 2019, against the backdrop of the Lincoln Memorial, surrounded by a hundred thousand rain-soaked sojourners of every color and creed, a resolute Donald Trump delivered “A Salute to America,” one of the most historic speeches of his presidency. And in process, I sensed the Glory Train of God’s freedom movement began to roll.

“We are one people chasing one dream and one magnificent destiny!” Trump’s panoramic message invoked words and principles from Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address. “That same American spirit that emboldened our founders has kept us strong throughout our history,” Trump noted. “To this day, that spirit runs through the veins of every American patriot… Devotion to our founding ideals led American patriots to abolish the evil of slavery, secure civil rights and expand the blessings of liberty to all Americans. This is the noble purpose that inspired Abraham Lincoln to rededicate our nation to a new birth of freedom—and to resolve that we will always have a government of, by and for the people!”

“THAT THIS NATION, UNDER GOD, SHALL HAVE A NEW BIRTH OF FREEDOM!” On July 4, 2011, a small band of apostolic leaders prayed this passage from Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address while petitioning Heaven’s Court for a divorce from historic idolatry and a rededication of our national covenant with Jesus alone. 

From the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, precisely where Dr. Martin Luther King gave his “I Have a Dream” speech and where President Trump would later deliver his “Salute to America,” we together pursued God for the same miracle Lincoln claimed in his. The Civil War statesman saw it would take a miracle from God—literally a “born again experience” for our entire nation—to unleash a turnaround which preserved and united our land. We simply sought the same. And we knew covenant restoration was the key.

From my perspective, in the spiritual realm the course of American history shifted from the pivot point of this rededication in 2011. It marked the beginning of an historic American turnaround. And as we have seen, this turnaround truly belongs to ALL OF US. 

That said, the Lord is summoning us together BEFORE HIS FACE to complete the turnaround He has offered us for the nation. A dimension of this freedom movement quite literally birthed yesterday. We are moving forward united—with One Voice in prayer—to see the governmental glory of God restored to our Capitol and our land. I want to encourage you again to join us July 22 at Faneuil Hall Boston, America’s historic cradle of liberty. Lets move as one!

Angels Appear! Mine Eyes Have Seen the Glory…
Can I share one final, spectacular detail to close us out today’s post? Remember I mentioned in our posting July 3 how the “Battle Hymn of the Republic” was resounding in my spirit for this holiday. I wrote: 

This July 4, the song reverberating through my spirit is actually “The Battle Hymn of the Republic.” Not a coincidence this song, sung on the battle lines of the Civil War, begins with a description of seeing the movement of God’s glory in the earth. “Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord… Thresholds of resistance are shaking as the engines of His train rumble and roar to life… GOD’S TRUTH IS MARCHING ON!”

This is how God confirmed very personally the reality of His promise to us. The moment came at the finale of “A Salute to America.” Trump’s message yielded to a military choir and band performing THE BATTLE HYMN OF THE REPUBLIC. With a hundred thousand people singing together, “Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord!” Suddenly the Blue Angels appeared, their jet engines shaking the thresholds of the mall as they soared above the Lincoln Memorial.

Can’t make this stuff up. 

But what happened next was truly extraordinary. The choir continued singing through all five stanzas after the Blue Angels flyover. Slow, deliberate, precise. The last stanza was especially poignant.

In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea, with a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me; As He died to make men holy, let us die to make men free! Our God is marching on…

OUR GOD IS MARCHING ON! At the precise moment of this proclamation by the US military choir, THE BLUE ANGELS REAPPEARED. Like, out of nowhere! The Angels roared over the Lincoln Memorial, and the earth again shook. Then they burst out of their formation and thrust forth in all directions across Washington DC. 

Friends, our God is marching on. And you are summoned to His freedom procession! Covenant blessings to each of you. NO KING BUT JESUS.
