DEAR FRIENDS,
A WHITE HOUSE TOUR IN FROZEN DC. In the midst of frigid cold and streets still iced over, Jolene and I joined a small team of Washington DC ministers touring the White House today. It is always an honor. The timing of the public tour, arranged a few months ago, was exceptional. 

No we did not visit the Oval Office. We were not there to connect with other leaders. Not that we would have objected.

Through Hallowed Halls
Instead, while walking the hallowed halls of the People’s Mansion we felt simply to humble ourselves in quieted prayer for the President, First Lady, the Secret Service and for a history-defining administration in the midst of great turmoil. It was also amazing to gaze out the Blue Room’s south portico windows at the pillars framing an oversized American flag and a snowed-over National Mall.

Past the Blue Room and Red Room is the State Dining Room. A portrait of Abraham Lincoln rests above the fireplace, providing a solemn overwatch for generally festive occasions. Remember it was Lincoln who grew exponentially in wisdom and revelation from God’s word during his presidency. Bible-centric messages conveyed a fiery, yet accurate understanding of God’s justice with themes even touching the end times. I prayed there the Lord would grace Trump with a similar hunger, and similar depth of revelation by His Spirit.

Under Lincoln’s Gaze—Big Ben Moment
It was under Lincoln’s gaze that Jolene and I chose to governmentally declare God’s release of the “America’s Big Ben Moment” prayer movement, praying nightly at 9pm for our nation and for the administration. A minute to win it! 

We asked Him to continue to accelerate this movement to believers across the nation, and meet each one with His holy fire. Please be an answer to our prayers! If you haven’t started already, begin tonight. You can even join our call, which starts each Wednesday evening with the Big Ben Minute. 

Flashpoint Like Kennedy?
The official White House portrait of John F. Kennedy is another favorite painting of mine, just around the corner from the State Dining Room. It is renown for being radically different than the poised, polished images of other presidents. Instead Kennedy is pictured in a pensive moment, wrestling in thought. Though many challenges during his administration could have provoked such a response, the image is most associated the Cuban missile crisis and its almost-nuclear brinkmanship. Khrushchev lost. Kennedy won. America and the west won. But the entire world almost lost.

Trump’s Victory Fist
Are we at such a flashpoint? Over America? Over Iran? Maybe it’s no coincidence that the next presidential portrait that comes into view is the iconic image of President Trump with fist raised, his right ear bloodied, declaring his resolve to stay in the fight until victory is gained. 

The sequencing of renown presidential paintings—Lincoln, Kennedy, Trump— really caught my attention. Whereas Lincoln and Kennedy succumbed to assassinations, Trump survived. This aspect of his legacy must continue. Please pray! 

Especially as it was precisely this image of Trump’s victory fist that was displayed by Iranian television with a threatening caption “this time the bullet won’t miss the target.”

This You have seen, Lord. We decree, yes it will miss the target! You preserved President Trump’s life so that he could return to the presidency at this crucial hour. Protect him. Guide and direct him, making Your pathway clear. Wherever he has deviated, get him back on track. Restore peace to our nation. Help Trump to see and obtain Your desired turnaround for Iran. A freedom movement that brings down his greatest longstanding adversary. Just as with World War II, turn the tide!

And Lord, help President Trump to continually honor Your covenant with Israel, Your covenant with America, and Your covenant dream for the nations. We declare and invoke your covenantal protection as he continues to align. In Jesus’ Name.
