Dear Maccabee watchmen,

What you read today you literally cannot make up. Seriously.

As background, we began the year 2016 warning about an emerging “Conflict of Thrones” that would ultimately be focused on the Temple Mount. Or as my friend Rick Ridings notes, who will rule on the Temple Mount. We prophesied this in Jerusalem around the time of Hanukkah last year.

On December 5, 2016 we warned that President Obama and the UN would move to divide Israel from its own covenantal foundations by December 25. The Temple was defiled on December 25 by Antiochus Epiphanes, whom many consider a forerunner of the antichrist. We felt that Obama and many nations within the UN would literally try to replicate Epiphanes’ occupation in this hour, driven by the same spiritual force. Just in time for the historic convergence of Christmas and Hanukkah.

You know the story of Hanukkah—how the Maccabees took their Temple back, and started a revolution. In the face of the spiritual darkness of our time, we are called to do the same. Then and now, it all begins with the lighting of the candle in His Temple. To reconsecrate it to the Lord and welcome back His glory.

Western Wall—An Illegal Israeli Settlement?
Unbelievably, the UN resolution pushed by Obama literally declares the Western Wall—the holiest site of the Jewish faith, on base of the Temple Mount—as an illegal Israeli settlement. The Western Wall is the only remaining construction of the Second Temple. Where the Maccabees literally defeated Epiphanes and his army to reconsecrate the Temple to the Lord.

An illegal Israeli settlement. Say what?

But it only makes sense. This is the same UN that voted this fall to invalidate the historic ties of the Temple Mount to Israel and the Jewish faith. By invalidating this history, Obama and the UN are literally seeking to invalidate God’s covenant with Israel and the Jewish people.

And if you are a genuine Christian, this is the covenant into which you have been grafted in.

You know that the Maccabees took their Temple back—and started a revolution. We are called to do the same. It all began with the lighting of the candle in the Temple, to reconsecrate it to the Lord and welcome back His glory.

Netanyahu Lights Menorah at the Western Wall!
That said… last night Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stood at the Western Wall and lit the Hanukkah menorah. What he said was stunning:

“I did not plan to be here this evening, but in light of the UN resolution I thought there was no better place to light the second Hanukkah candle than the Western Wall. According to the UN resolution, the Maccabees did not liberate Jerusalem, they occupied Palestinian territory. According to the UN resolution, the villages that they started out from in the Modi’in area, those villages and that area were ‘occupied Palestinian territory.’

The Western Wall is not occupied. The Jewish Quarter is not occupied. The other places are not occupied either. Therefore we do not accept, nor can we accept, this resolution. We are certain of our future just as we are certain of our past. And here I would like to light Hanukkah candles on behalf of the Glory of Israel. Happy Hanukkah.”

Netanyahu lit the candle at the Temple Mount. Symbolically, and with full intentionality, Netanyahu signaled the re-emergence of a resolve I believe is from the Lord. Conveying the covenant restoration that the Lord Himself brought forth with the rebirth of his nation.

Just like the Maccabees. For all the world to see. Welcoming in the Glory of Israel.

I believe Netanyahu’s actions clearly resound the spiritual revolution God is releasing by His Spirit. Like the Maccabees, we are called to do the same in our hour. To take back our desolate sanctuaries and spheres originally covenanted to the Lord, lighting the lamps of covenant with the God of Israel again. Keeping in mind the clarity of God’s word that the God of Israel is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

And to stand with the God of Jesus Christ, we must align with His covenant regarding Israel and the nations. Standing covenantally against the encroachment of an anti-christ spirit that seeks to usurp this sacred covenant with His land and people.

Wednesday Call—Light a Candle…
Our entryway into the Hanukkah miracle began when the Lord supernaturally lit our unity candle during our wedding. It was the first day of Hanukkah, 2003.

And last year He drew us to Jerusalem to see our menorah lit again. On the first night of Hanukkah we journeyed to a monument to the Maccabees. A tea light was burning at the base to commemorate the holy day. We lifted this candle to light our wedding menorah once again, both of us overwhelmed with a sense Lord was somehow passing a torch of this covenantal heritage to us.

Please keep in mind how God supernaturally lit a candle to light our world many Hanukkahs ago. I’m talking about Jesus, the Light of the World. Conceived over Hanukkah to reconsecrate the temple of humanity to the Lord.

For this reason, tomorrow night on our call we are going to express our solidarity with the God of Israel, with Jesus His Son, and with His covenant people. We are going to be commissioned into His new move—His spiritual revolution!

We together are going to light our candles…

Lamplighter Commissioning
I sensed the Lord speaking to me this morning about a special Lamplighter commissioning into this revolutionary move of Holy Spirit. He reminded me how the last few chapters of our book Crown and Throne prophetically conveyed His work in each year—from 2011 through 2016. Our final chapter of Crown and Throne, chapter 16, prophesies Heaven’s commissioning of end-time Lamplighters. Burning lamps for Jesus who engage with Him in this spiritual revolution.

As part of this commissioning, together from Washington to Washington to Jerusalem, we together are going to light our lamps—our menorahs—as a symbolic stand for God’s covenant. Remembering again that Jesus, the Light of the world, was conceived over this holiday.

So if you don’t have a menorah, get one. Or at least get a candle! Make sure you have a lighter or matches nearby. And together lets light our lamps and receive our commission for this coming season.

No King but Jesus!
