Two bombs exploded at the finish line of the Boston Marathon this afternoon. At least two people are dead, and 74 are being treated for injuries. A third bomb ravaged the JFK Library. Other devices have been found and dismantled. A Saudi national is allegedly in custody.

Due to this tragedy we will be hosting an emergency prayer call tonight. Join us at 9pm for prayer.

As we shared last week, Jolene and I were both alerted by the Holy Spirit in January about potential terrorism in April. We felt strongly that the enemy was seeking to abort God’s work in our nation, but that God wanted us to stand for His destiny for us to be realized.

Shot Heard Round the World
This tragic act occurred on Patriots Day, a New England commemoration of the START OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION. Though celebrated each year on the third Monday of April, the “shot heard round the world” actually took place on April 19, demarcating the start of the Revolution. Paul Revere rode the night before.

Is it significant that today’s “shot heard round the world” took place on the commemoration of the start of the American Revolution? Are terrorists conveying a message, somehow declaring their own war on the day America fought to gain our freedom?

It is vital to note that tomorrow, April 16, also marks the anniversary of Israel’s independence. Are the terrorists foreign or domestic? How will this affect future sports events, rallies, etc?

Could Have Been Much Worse
We can thank God that the other devices were apparently found before they could be detonated. We are also grateful to hear that our friends and metro DC residents Jacob and Chelsea made it through. Chelsea finished the marathon only 20 minutes before the explosions went off!

So thank you all who prayed in faith this past week for potential attacks to be thwarted. As horrible as this bombing was, it actually could have been much worse.

Please pray for the victims of this tragedy, and for the Lord to expose and overthrow other potential attacks. Pray for Boston–one of our favorite cities in the world, and a womb of Holy Spirit awakening and revival! For those who can make it, we’ll touch base tonight. Covenant blessings,
