If Mitt Romney wins the Presidential election, riots are being threatened in the streets of our cities. If President Obama is re-elected, people have talked about seceding from the union.

Clearly, the enemy is trying to forge division in our nation. He is trying to X us out. But God is establishing His bridal canopy over the land! And I am convinced the Bridal Canopy will prevail.

Tonight’s Call
We need to return from the empowerment of division and “civil war” to a renewal of vision for our cities and nation. That’s why tonight’s prayer call is so important. Dr. Negiel Bigpond, who has literally given his life to see the healing of our land, will be with us. So excited to be joined as well by pioneering apostolic leaders Vanessa Battle and Jacquie Tyre. They led our teams on a key prayer journey through Civil War battlefields in 2011, praying for awakening and union to prevail over civil war! I wanted you to appreciate what God accomplished through the dedication of these leaders, so I am sharing the story below.

Also–joining us again will be Matt Lockett, director of JHOP DC locally and Bound 4 Life nationally, who brought this burden of potential riots before us last week.

The Threat is Real
Please don’t dismiss the threat of potential riots, because it is very real. A few weeks ago, before we were alerted to the potential of riots, Jolene awoke from a dream. The Lord spoke to her about “fierce division in the US.” The emphasis was on fierce, and she knew that an “eruption” was at hand.

Friends, we must pray! I believe the Lord has already been “forerunning” an antidote to this threat of riots for the past few years. I further believe we have gained the “earned authority” to either lessen this potential or negate it altogether. We’ll share more on this below.

Warning of Civil War–Rick & Patti Ridings
Back in 1996, Rick and Patti Ridings saw how God wanted to bring awakening to America. But the Lord also showed them that, if this move of Holy Spirit did not penetrate through to the roots of our land, we would be faced with a tragedy similar to the days following the Second Great Awakening. Civil War could again erupt through the land!

Rick and Patti felt to hold a “13 Colonies Prayer Journey,” praying through the roots of our nation in the original colonies. This prayer journey set a precedent for future efforts. Their cry in the journey was that repentance would be embraced in the midst of awakening, and America would turn away from that which would summon God’s judgment.

Nutcracker Prophecy
In 1998, Rick Ridings gave a similar word. Rick saw a hard shell of demonic resistance encompassing Washington DC. He then saw a nutcracker come and “crack the nut,” with pressure applied by intercessors from the north and south. When north and south came together in covenant and prayer, it would have the effect of cracking this hard shell of demonic resistance!

Late in 2010, Rick saw how this word was being recommissioned for 2011, the coming year. We were hosting a private gathering with the Ridings, and they prayed for us to prophetically “walk out” the vision in this hour.

Awakening & Union in Gettysburg
We felt to pray through Civil War battlefields in the south, and historic wells of awakening in the north.

On July 2, 2011 teams from the north, the south, and the nation gathered on the Gettysburg battlefield, repented of division and joined north and south in a covenant of Holy Spirit awakening and union. It was the 150th anniversary of the Civil War, and the 148th anniversary of the battle of Gettysburg.

Dr. Negiel Bigpond, Dr. John Benefiel, and Bishop Harry Jackson joined us onsite to guide us apostolically.

The southern teams, led by Jacquie Tyre and Vanessa Battle, had just prayed through major Civil War battlefields from New Orleans through the deep south to northern Virginia. A western team, led by Paul and Cheryl Amabile, prayed from Kansas–where historians denote the border friction as the true beginnings of the Civil War–through Missouri, Tennessee, and western Virginia.

New Birth of Freedom
It was at Gettysburg we first presented the Lord with the Declaration of Covenant, a united plea to see God grant America what Abraham Lincoln had envisioned on this very soil. “We here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain,” declared Lincoln. “That this Nation under God, shall have a new birth of freedom–and that government of the people, by the people, and for the people shall not perish from the earth.”

On July 4, 2011, these united teams traveled down to the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC on a freedom journey. We received a Throne Room verdict of divorcement from Baal. And we again presented the Lord with a Declaration of Covenant, asking the Lord to marry our land , enter us into Holy Spirit awakening and union, and grant us this “new birth of freedom.”

Bridal Canopy! Nation Under God
Note that the key to everything here is “under God.” That’s more than a phrase, that’s a literal picture of God tabernacling with His people. Again, the message of the Bridal Canopy is that we are being joined back to our Bridegroom, and also restored to each other in Christ. And what God joins together, let no man divide asunder!

Monument Cracks–Sign of Covenant Renewal
Remember Rick’s “Nutcracker word.” Fifty days later–to the day–the Washington Monument cracked in an earthquake. This was a sign to us that the Lord had judged in favor of His saints. Divorce from idolatry granted. Resetting of covenant with the Lord granted! And somehow, the hard shell of division had been cracked.

Within this covenant, our plea was not only for union with the Lord, but in Him union with each other. That awakening and union would overtake division and “civil war” in the body of Christ and nation, in Jesus’ Name!

Vision Beyond Division
I am recounting this because Holy Spirit quickened our journey to me again while praying about potential riots. I believe the Lord has already granted His people significant earned authority to pray into this, and see the potential for “civil war” lessened or negated altogether.

Instead of violence and division, we can see awakening and union overtake the land. Again, our enemy in the spirit would try to motivate people to X out our land. But God We can see the protection afforded by God’s bridal canopy fully realized.

So join us tonite. Lets stand across the nation for what the Lord has already decreed. Awakening and union. Vision beyond the paralysis of division. And that this nation, under God, might receive a new birth of freedom.
