David’s Tent Prayer Call tonight at 9pm. Great news to share! Conference call number: 530-881-1400 access code 903-586. Use *6 to mute/unmute.
Some things just have to be said. And today, we’re going to declare the word of the Lord.
We wrote yesterday on “securing the Secret Place.” How God has been progressively restoring the Tabernacle of David worldwide, and how September 11, 2001 became a global signpost for this restoration process. Today we’re going to share a primary key to securing the Secret Place–divorcing our idolatry.
Tabernacle of David–Progressive Restoration
I was an intercessory missionary at the International House of Prayer in Kansas City when I embarked on the Kettle Tour in August 2001. It was an honor to stand for various facets of God’s restoration and repair during my tenure there.
There is no doubt that IHOP-KC has been a primary catalyst for the global restoration of the Tabernacle of David. “Harp and bowl” worship and intercession is at the core of this restoration, with a focus on Jesus as Bridegroom, King and Judge. We should be so grateful for this work!
There are several other components of this restoration that are still in the maturing process nationally and globally. Major facets we are dedicated to seeing birthed include:
Covenantal Authority–The Tabernacle of David was an expression of God’s covenant with Israel, in the capital city. This is why the Ark of the Covenant was at its center! Like Israel, America was covenanted to Christ at its inception. Honoring and establishing God’s covenant is still at the heart of restoring the Tabernacle of David.
Crown and Throne–Both intimacy and authority are secured through His covenant. We are dedicated to the marriage of Harp and Bowl worship with the Crown and Throne expression of governmental authority. This movement must have a very specific focus on capitals, as well as seats of authority in many spheres.
Zechariah 3–Aligning the prayer movement with healing and deliverance from present and generational bondages as a primary means of bringing God’s emerging priesthood to a new level freedom in Christ.
Divorcing Baal (Idolatry)–to restore the fallen Tabernacle of David, we must understand why it came to ruin in the first place! This has perhaps been the most neglected facet of the restoration process, especially in this nation. And that’s what I want to concentrate on today.
Loving the Bridegroom, Tolerating Baal
The House of Prayer movement has released an amazing symphony of prayer over the past decade. But if we are honest, we haven’t yet seen the results we’ve been promised. Why? I believe a major reason is because we’ve loved the Bridegroom, but we have tolerated Baal. In our personal lives, and in our regions, we must deal with the personal and generational covenants with darkness that have compromised our authority.
Many ministries have “Gideon Companies” with a goal of impacting the nation. But precious few actually understand what Gideon actually did to prepare for this call. Gideon tore down his father’s altar to Baal! Only then was he granted the covenantal authority to deliver his nation.
Idolatry: A Covenant Issue
During the Call Nashville, on 07-07-07, the prayer community nationally announced our intention to divorce Baal. But there’s a vast difference between announcing our intention and actually receiving a verdict from the Judge!
If you don’t believe me, ask anyone who has gone through a divorce. Marriage is a legally binding covenant before God and man. Divorce is a legally binding annulment of this covenant, ratified by a Judge. It is no coincidence that God used Hosea’s marriage to a prostitute to convey His desire for people to be free from idolatry. And in Hosea 2, God clearly shows how we must be divorced from our idolatry before we can fully experience His covenant blessings.
Where Did the Tabernacle Fall?
What does this have to do with restoring the Tabernacle of David? Everything. Again, in Amos 9:11, the prophet declares how God will restore the fallen tabernacle of David, repair its breaches, and rebuild it as in the days of old.
To see this restoration, we must understand where the Tabernacle fell. Biblically, the Tabernacle of David actually fell when Solomon embraced idolatry. God’s first judgment on this action was to divide the land into north and south. His final judgment, when successive kings followed Solomon’s evil legacy of Baal worship, was to remove His glory from the Temple.
Compromised Covenants
Solomon sought to unite the Mideast economically and culturally–through compromised covenants. He married Pharaoh’s daughter, and she brought Egyptian idolatry into the Temple. He married Assyrian women, and they brought Baal worship into the temple.
Beloved, it’s no coincidence that Freemasons look to Solomon in his idolatry as their founder. Or that the “secret name of God” in Freemasonry is Jabulon–a combination of Jehovah with Baal, or Bul, and On, or Osiris, the Egyptian god of the dead.
Again, the idolatry that Solomon embraced was perpetuated generationally. Things eventually got so bad that God evacuated the premises! “Son of man, do you see what they are doing, the great abominations which the house of Israel are committing here, so that I should be far from My sanctuary?” (Ezekiel 8:6).
Securing the Secret Place
Here’s a principle worth noting. When God’s people embrace idolatry, He removes His glory. And to see His glory restored, we must repent of our idolatry, gain freedom through the annulment of covenants with idolatry, and re-align with His covenant through Jesus Christ.
Praying 24/7 while neglecting this facet will not restore God’s glory. Praying 24/7 while moving through this process will not only restore God’s glory, but secure His presence in a home, family, church or region. And that is exactly the dream on God’s heart for this hour.
Divorcing Baal Across America
I thank God for Dr. John Benefiel and the Heartland Apostolic Prayer Network. God gave Dr. Benefiel the commission to facilitate the divorcement of Baal across the United States. John sought the Lord for a Throne Room verdict regarding the idolatry that has so compromised the Church in America. And the Lord showed Him how, through the Blood of Jesus Christ, a verdict of divorce from Baal was accessible, even for the nation (see Dan. 7:22).
An incredible teaching by Dr. Benefiel on Divorcing Baal is available at http://hapn.us. I have a follow-up teaching on the site as well. We call it “Your Verdict is Freedom.”
To receive this verdict of divorce from Baal for this nation, the Lord set His terms. He required John to visit all 50 states. Further, He required leaders from all 50 states to go onsite to every known historic altar of idolatry and pray through the divorcement of Baal.
Again, the Judge has the right to set the terms for any judgment. These were terms the Lord set in order to receive the verdict He desired from the beginning to grant.
Dr. Benefiel culminated his personal journey to all 50 states the first week of July 2011. At the same time, the divorcement of Baal had been facilitated in every state by this time–more than 10,000 sites in a year and a half!
Divorce Granted! Covenant Restored!
And on July 4, 2011, at the Lincoln Memorial, leaders across the nation together presented this corporate work before God’s Throne, asking for His verdict of divorce from Baal to be fully rendered. It was there that we presented the Lord with the Declaration of Covenant, asking Him to remarry our land according to our covenantal foundations.
On July 4, there was an incredible witness of the Holy Spirit that He had actually granted this verdict in favor of the saints. And it was interesting that, exactly 50 days later, the Washington Monument cracked in an earthquake!
As we have written many times before, this cracking of the monument was a confirmation from God that He had indeed granted the divorce, and that the “hard shell of demonic resistance had been cracked.” But even more importantly, this was a sign that God had indeed agreed to marry our land again–covenantally and governmentally!
Signposts of His Work–2011 and 2012
For us personally, as exciting as it was to see God marry the land again, we had even greater hopes. Not enough to see covenant restored–our desire from this journey’s beginning was and is to see His covenant established.
And as we shared above, we knew that this renewal of covenant would literally unlock the next phase of the restoration of the Tabernacle of David. A new level of intimacy with Christ and governmental authority would be restored.
To put it succinctly–in 2011, we labored to see God’s covenant restored. In 2012, we have been graced to see His covenant established!
God has been prophesying from Washington DC–our nation’s Jerusalem. In 2011, we saw God’s covenant restored, and an earthquake cracked the Washington Monument. Is it any coincidence that, in 2012, God opened the way for David’s Tent on the White House Ellipse? Friends, this is a signpost of His work in 2012. Which makes your intercession for Davids Tent all the more important!
Bridal Canopy: Restoring God’s Glory
And best of all–this verdict has secured the restoration of His glory to our land. Maybe you don’t understand what this means. The overshadowing of God’s glory in times past has been termed awakening and revival. Darkness flees, massive numbers of people return to Christ, and transformation is unleashed.
Isaiah 4 conveys the perfect picture of the restored Tabernacle of David. I know that this passage refers unequivocally to Jerusalem. But to a large measure, both principle and potential are offered to this covenant land as we align with His heart.
Friends, do you remember Cindy Jacobs’ vision–how the enemy would try to “X us out,” and how the Lord would transform this into a Bridal Canopy over the nation? Here it is, a dream painted by God Himself!
“When the Lord has washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and purged the bloodshed of Jerusalem from her midst by the spirit of judgment and the spirit of burning,
Then the Lord will create over the whole area of Mount Zion and all her assemblies a cloud by day, even smoke, and the brightness of a flaming fire by night; FOR OVER ALL THE GLORY WILL BE A BRIDAL CANOPY” (Isaiah 4:4-5).
Let these words resound within your heart. Over all, the very glory of God will be a Bridal Canopy! Christ has made a way, and covenantally this is the great potential for our hour.
Such an amazing and fantastic word of encouragement!
