“One nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.” Ironically, there was something missing at the invocation given for President Obama’s second inaugural ceremony. “Under God.”
During the invocation, Myrlie Evers Williams managed to invoke the spirits of our ancestors, and closed her prayer “in Jesus Name, and in the name of all who are holy and right.” Really?
By no means am I maligning the cause she and her late husband, a slain hero of the civil rights movement, have stood for. Quite the opposite. Just as with the exodus of the Jews, this great movement led by Martin Luther King was catalyzed and accelerated to victory by Almighty God. And the moment God’s role in freedom is minimized, we become vulnerable to its decline. Further, we become vulnerable to deception.
40th Anniversary Roe v Wade
Freedom was celebrated yesterday. But its fragility is no more on display than today, 1-22-13, the 40th anniversary of Roe v Wade. Hauntingly, Exodus 1:22 both prophesies and commemorates this threefold chord of idolatry, slavery and abortion. This is how Pharaoh enslaved the Jews, and this is how the enemy seeks to drain us of liberty today.
Thank God that Isaiah 22:22 trumps Exodus 1:22. Not sure how this all works. But I thank God for an incredible group of intercessors who are being granted Key of David authority to open gates no man shuts, and shut gates no man can open. From the midnight watches these 22 days to the conference calls to the “key” declarations on the National Mall… what a privilege to connect and pray with you!
Under God: His Covenant Will Prevail!
The phrase “under God” was infused into American conscience by Abraham Lincoln in the Gettysburg Address. “That this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom; and that government, of the people, by the people, and for the people shall not perish from the earth.”
That’s the dream we’ve been standing for during this project. From January 1-22, and from January 22-February 12. Aborting this covenant dream may be the enemy’s greatest desire. But God has spoken to us that the Bridal Canopy will prevail, and the fruit of this covenant between Jesus and His people will also prevail. DECLARE THIS NOW–NO KING BUT JESUS! THE BRIDAL CANOPY PREVAILS! GOD’S COVENANT SEED AWAKENS AND PREVAILS!
