Prophetic Vision of Freedom
For years, the Lord has entered me into seasons of prayer for President Obama. I have been compelled by current events, but more by a prophetic sense that our president stands between Moses and Pharaoh.
Pharaoh established his throne in covenant with demonic powers—the gods of Egypt—who motivated him to enslave and subjugate God’s covenant people. Moses established his throne in covenant with the Lord—and rescued His people from Pharaoh’s slavery. In process he brought Pharaoh’s governance and military to nought.
Since the beginning of Obama’s presidency, I have been intensely aware of God’s heart that he choose Moses over Pharaoh, and be a deliverer of our generation from the Pharaohs of this age.
Source of True Freedom
Current headlines clearly convey this need. Of course, just as we know satan cannot cast out satan, so we know that Pharaoh cannot cast out Pharaoh. The great deliverers President Obama seems to celebrate most—even taking his oaths of office on the Bibles of Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King—carried with them a supercharged power that went far beyond their own capacities. They were in covenant with God! And He through them delivered our nation from evil.
Clearly Hamas and ISIS have chosen the wrong god. But so have Jay-Z and Beyonce, and a host of politicians and societal influencers who bow their knee to Baal for success. In fact, this has been the norm modeled for our generation. And beloved, we cannot defeat what we embrace.
Only in Jesus is there true freedom. Jesus declared, “If you be my disciples, you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:31-2). The Apostle Paul declared how this freedom only comes when God’s heart and nature are in manifestation to mankind. “Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty!” (2 Corinthians 3:17). So awesome that God is giving us a revolutionary turning point in this hour!
The Vision
I’m writing this to you today because I’m asking you to share my burden for President Obama. While praying on the Mall this weekend with John Robb, I saw a vision of the likeness of President Obama. In the vision he was literally dressed as Pharaoh, with a black and gold headdress and a golden staff with a hook on the end. I kept watching as he extended his staff, a look of fierce anger on his countenance. The golden staff was broken, as if his hands alone were holding it together.
And then suddenly, Pharaoh’s headdress and armor simply disappeared. It was as if these garments could no longer confine him. He immediately grew in stature, two or three times. But instead of holding out a broken staff in anger, he was bowing on one knee, clothed in a suit, praying to the Lord Jesus Christ. And his face conveyed that he was at peace.
Is the vision symbolic? Does it represent our president, or the seat of authority, or both? Honestly, I’m not sure. I do know the Lord is reclaiming the seats of authority of our nation that have been claimed by demonic powers. I also believe that at a heart-level, President Obama desires to empower true freedom. So lets continue to pray accordingly, seeking the Lord diligently to separate him from the powers of idolatrous man and hell itself that have together laid claim to his rulership.
Because if ever we needed a Moses—or an Abraham or a King—beloved it’s right now.
Another minster who was on Sid Roth’s program last year has had a vision of Mr. Obama coming to the Lord. I have been asking God to forgive him as he knows not what he does and proclaiming the blessing of the Holy Spirit to fall on him. I have prayed that the Comforter would show him God’s love, lead him into all truth and convict him of sin, righteousness and judgement. Amen
My go to prayer for my president is that the light of the Lord Jesus would shine in the dark recesses of his soul. Where Jesus light shines, darkness has to flee.
I am both humbled and encouraged by your message. I am turning from a dislike for this president to an honest extension of prayer. Truly I would like to see him
turn and yield to the Lord Jesus Christ and find true peace and truth.
