Consecration for His Cause
Throughout this week we’ve explored the forerunner anointing, and forerunning prayer for awakening. We’ve seen how God uncapped a well of forerunning prayer for awakening just for this hour of history.
Folks have been wondering where we’re going with all this. Very simply, the Lord is bringing a Third Great Awakening, and He is calling His people now to give themselves fully to forerunning prayer for this revolutionary move of the Holy Spirit in our nation. He wants our consecration for His cause.
Dutch Sheets became an example for us all when he resigned from his current duties to give himself fully to God’s move of awakening. Dutch realized time is short, and our nation could go either way. In the same fashion, you too are being compelled by the Spirit to take your stand—to give our all and see this sacred work brought to completion.
13 Colonies Freedom Journey—Spiritual Revolution
With this at heart, I am putting the stake in the ground TODAY for this summer’s 13 Colonies Freedom Journey. Details on locations etc are now being worked out.
But the 13 Colonies Freedom Journey has been commissioned by God as a forerunning prayer expression to literally release His awakening. That’s exactly what has been prophesied. And it’s been why I’ve been wrestling with God so much over the journey. God solemnly warned me that this project was being administrated, but it was not being birthed. Please join me in laying hold of Nash’s example and lets birth this work together through prayer!
Jonathan Edwards called the awakening of his hour “a divine attack upon society.” We need the same! And it is now time for a radical move of the Spirit that will revolutionize our world. If this resonates with you, please join us for the cause!
Forerunning Prayer for Awakening
We’re going to close out our week-long focus on forerunning prayer for awakening with a prophetic word by Jeremiah Johnson, a young pastor in Lakeland FL. Though I’ve only briefly met Jeremiah, I believe he’s a maturing prophetic voice for our nation. And it is extraordinary how the Lord gave him a word on Daniel Nash and the east coast at this very time.
Before we go there… I shared yesterday three aspects of Father Nash’s legacy that are vital for today. This morning in prayer I felt the Lord emphasize two more. So here are all five for your review.
- Covenant Partnership. Daniel Nash entered into a covenant partnership with Charles Finney to accomplish God’s work in the Second Great Awakening. His very tombstone bears witness to this. Engraved on it are the simple words, “Daniel Nash, laborer with Finney, mighty in prayer.”
- Forerunning Prayer. Daniel Nash was sent ahead of Charles Finney to “pray through” in the places where Finney was about to minister. He would often engage in travailing prayer onsite for a month or more, which included nonstop pleas and tears for souls. Then Nash and Finney together would reap what was perhaps the greatest harvest seen since the Book of Acts! God is commissioning many intercessors in this hour to engage in forerunning prayer for His third great awakening.
- Breaking through Baal. Nash and Finney both gained earned authority to break through the prevailing idolatry of the hour through prayer and action. Charles Finney was a Freemason before he was saved. God prompted him immediately to repentance, and to call for repentance in every service from this idolatry of his hour. He actually attributed the outpouring of the Second Great Awakening—which he believed was second only to the Book of Acts—to entire denominations repenting of this idolatry.
- Onsite intercession. It’s important to note that Nash didn’t just intercede from a ministry headquarters or a house of prayer. Instead he also went to the area where God was about to move, and prayed onsite until Holy Spirit broke through. Friends, the move of the Spirit is often demarcated by a geographic location. And onsite prayer brings onsite breakthrough!
- Extraordinary results. Daniel Nash’s legacy can be defined by one word, and that’s “results.” He prayed through, travailing until he sensed the work was birthed. God moved, and multitudes were born again! Today amidst our conferences, cutting-edge worship, incessant projects and hype, we still have little manifestation of His Kingdom in our midst. That’s about to change—as we learn to pray “until!!”
THE “NASHARITE” ARMY—by Jeremiah Johnson
I have recently had a series of prophetic dreams that have led me into several powerful visitations from the Holy Spirit. Through these encounters, He has graciously enlightened the eyes of my heart to what He is currently doing in the body of Christ and what we can expect to take place in the days ahead. I sense that now is the time to release what I have seen and heard.
The First Dream
On Monday Night May 5th, I had a dream where I found myself in a medieval-looking city with thousands of people who were fearful and oppressed as the enemy had laid siege to their city. I began to rally them together and tell them that they must fight and not flee. As I gave them instructions, Corey Russell and Allen Hood from the International House of Prayer in Kansas City entered the city. Corey began shouting commands to the people to put on their armor and get ready for battle.
As he finished preparing the people, I began to prophesy to him and say, ” Corey! For every 1 voice of awakening that God is releasing in America, He is releasing 7 voices of Intercession that will prepare the way for the coming revival.” As I said this statement, everything in the dream stopped and I had the captive audience of an entire city.
Again I prophesied and said, “Corey! For every 1 voice of awakening that God is releasing in America, He is releasing 7 voices of Intercession that will prepare the way for the coming revival!”
I continued on and said, “God gave Lou Engle the Nazarites in this nation, but He is now giving you the Nasharites in this nation. You will raise up a generation of Nash’s, voices of Intercession, that will outnumber the voices of Awakening. My Spirit blows through these young Nasharites like a gust of wind, but you will take them and turn them into houses of prayer. The mark of the Nasharites is that they themselves will be called, ‘Houses of Prayer’.”
I immediately woke up from the dream with fire all over my body. I said to the Spirit as I sat up in my bed, “This isn’t just a dream for Corey Russell, this is a dream to sound the alarm in America for the raising up of voices of Intercession.” I began to weep and say, “God we have placed so much emphasis on ‘Voices of Awakening’ in this nation, and so little time raising up ‘Voices of Intercession’ that will pave the way for the awakening and revival that is coming.”
Who are the Nasharites?
At the beginning of the Second Great Awakening in America, there was a man named Daniel Nash who at age 48, began to give himself totally to prayer for the meetings of Revivalist Charles Finney. Nash would enter into towns and cities weeks before Finney would have his Awakening meetings and travail in the place of intercession and prayer that God might pour out His Spirit upon the meetings.
One story is told that Daniel Nash entered a city and could only find a dark cellar to pray in before the revival meetings came to town. Lying prostrate on the ground and groaning, he began to call upon the name of the Lord and succeeded in pulling heaven down to earth. When Charles Finney would eventually come and have the Awakening meetings, Nash would usually not attend, but kept praying in secret for souls and deliverance. It has been said that the Second Great Awakening in America brought in several hundred thousand souls to the Lord.
Upon his death in 1831, Daniel Nash’s gravestone read: DANIEL NASH Laborer with Finney Mighty in Prayer Nov 17, 1775-Dec 20, 1831.
Just as Daniel Nash or “Father Nash” as many call him today, committed himself to being a Voice of Intercession that would give time and resources to the place of travail and intercession before Charles Finney, the messenger of Awakening would preach, so God is raising up a Nasharite army in the earth that will win heaven’s blessing and approval before revival and awakening meetings ever take place in cities and regions. God is calling and commissioning men and women in America who will wholly give themselves to birthing in the spirit what they cannot see in the natural. The lazy are being transformed into laborers in the American Church.
The Second Dream
On May 10th, I had another dream that gave me more clarity and revelation into what God is doing in America. In the dream, I found myself looking down upon the United States where two large bowls filled with Incense representing the prayers of the saints were beginning to tip over America. The Holy Spirit immediately spoke to me and said, “You must tell the pastors in America that it’s not when the seats are filled that the kingdom will come, but it’s when the bowls are full that the kingdom will come in their midst.”
A bible was opened up to Revelation 8 and I began to read, “And when He broke the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour. And I saw the seven angels who stand before God; and seven trumpets given to them. And another angel came and stood at the altar, holding a golden censer; and much incense was given to him, that he might add it to the prayers of the saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. And the smoke of the incense with the prayers of the saints, went up before God out of the angel’s hand. And the angel took the censer; and he filled it with the fire of the altar and threw it to the earth; and there followed peals of thunder and sounds of flashes of lightning and an earthquake.”
East Coast, West Coast—More Prayer Needed!
At this, an angel appeared in the dream and began to tip the bowls over several regions of the United States. The Holy Spirit again said to me, “Remember Jeremiah, it’s not when the seats are full in the churches that my kingdom will come, but it’s when the bowls are full of intercession that my kingdom will be released upon America.” The bowls full of what looked like holy fire and lava began to tip over the Panhandle of Florida. At this I heard a cry ring out and say, “Damon Thompson is (a) Voice of Awakening sent to that region, but more voices of Intercession are needed to carry the meetings. Many that will pray, will never even attend the services.”
A bowl began to tip over the state of Kentucky, another over the state of Texas, and the Spirit spoke again and said, “More prayer is needed on the East and West Coasts for surely darkness and mixture has infiltrated these regions. There are many displays of power, but few displays of intercession and travail on these coasts.”
Hear the Cry
A trumpet blast is being released in America! The Nasharite Army is beginning to awake. These voices of Intercession will outnumber the voices of Awakening in this nation.
Where are those who will give themselves to travail and prayer to see the kingdom birthed in the spirit before it is ever manifested in the natural? Where are the pastors and leaders who will shift entire ministries and churches from filling up seats to filling up the bowls! Yes, the bowls are beginning to tip in the Panhandle of Florida, they are tipping in Kentucky, Texas, and many more voices of Intercession are needed on the East and West Coasts. Having labored 20 and 30 years ago to see revival and awakening come will not suffice anymore. A new breed of Nasharites with a fresh stirring and hunger for more are being released upon America. The masses will never know their names, but heaven will! May those who have ears to hear and eyes to see listen to what the Spirit is saying in this hour.
I agree with the vision shared. The prayers of intercession become the incense which will be poured out in blessing on the nation. The culmination of prayers of the saints through the ages bringing fire, repentance, healing and restoration to a nation whose culture has become toxic, polluted by indulgence and rebellion against a holy God. Kingdom of God, come! Will of God be done. Let us utter the words proclaimed during the Revolutionary War: “No King But Jesus!” Hallelujah!
Yes, Lord! The visions were awesome! Yes, the prayers of intercession become incense poured out like the fire of God’s love bringing repentance, healing and restoration to a hurting, polluted nation. Kingdom of God, Come! Will of God Be Done! No King But Jesus! Hallelujah! Judith Grominger
Dear Jon and Jolene,
I have been receiving your e-mails for a couple of years now, have been on the Wednesday night prayer calls on a regular basis for well over a year or more, am a HAPN regional representative for the southeast Michigan area, and attended the first David’s Tent gathering in Washington D.C. However, I have never written to you until now.
The prayer group I lead prays very much in the same way you are led – I.e. territorially for the country, Michigan and Detroit area. I am currently involved in a 3 year long term prayer assignment which God termed, “The Spiritual Redo of the War of 1812.” I am in the process of writing a book about all that He has led our prayer group to do and pray in accordance with this assignment and have entitled it , The Field Book of the Spiritual Redo of the War of 1812. When I read that you wrote your Crown and Throne book using the same concept of a “field book or field guide” it was just one more confirmation for me to remain connected to your ministry.
When I read today’s posting, I felt it was time to write you in order to confirm and encourage you in your 13 colony tour that will be coming up this summer, because of a particular crossover in both our assignments.
This coming September 8-12, 2014, we will be doing some more geographical onsite praying at forts of the War of 1812. This time, our trip will lead us through the state of New York up to Lake Champlain on the border of New York and Vermont. We will be in Plattsburgh, New York on Lake Champlain on September 11 because General Macomb who was born in Detroit, was instrumental in helping bring about an American victory over the British in that particular battle. This year will be the 200th anniversary of that victory and we want to bring to that geographical location once again spiritual blessing and intercession for our country from Detroit (General Macomb’s birthplace – also I live in Macomb County named for General Macomb, the northeastern suburban area of Detroit). It is significant that the Battle of Plattsburgh occurred on the date
of September 11, because, of course, the terrorist attack that occurred in New York on September 11.
The crossover part of our two assignments, however, is concerning Charles Finney and Daniel Nash. One of the stops we will be making on this trip is to Charles Finney Christian School in the Rochester area of New York.
Last fall while watching a webcast of a meeting at GOZ (Chuck Pierce), a woman told about how the Charles Finney School was given the original pulpit – just recently found – that Charles Finney preached from in upstate New York. I contacted the music teacher (Penny Kunkel) that was named in the GOZ webcast and asked that when we came through the Rochester, NY area in September, if we could stop by the school and pray with her at Finney’s pulpit for the 3rd Great Awakening!!!!!! She very kindly said yes and even invited us to stay overnight at her house! Then when you began writing about Daniel Nash, I realized how very much my intercessor friend and I who will be with me on this trip, as well as the Charles Finney school teacher, Penny were operating in the same type of role as Daniel Nash in being forerunner intercessors or as is called in this particularly posting, “Nasharites” in the very territory that Charles Finney and Nash did their work of ministry! After we leave Rochester, although we will not be going to Lowville itself, our route will be leading us through that general territory as we journey onward to Lake Champlain. So, yes indeed, God is causing intercessors to hear the call of preparatory intercession – to fill the bowls – for the 3rd Great Awakening!
Another point of interest for you is about a Washington D.C. trip this summer that my husband and I will be taking. August 24, 2014, is the 200th anniversary of the burning of Washington D.C. during the War of 1812
Since you and Jolene live in Washington D.C., most likely you will be in prayer and intercession about that event and for the spiritual application as it might pertain to our country today. Also we will travel to Fort McHenry where the Star Spangled Banner was written because this year, 2014, is the 200th anniversary of its writing, and from which our national motto comes – “In God We Trust”.
Lastly, at one point in my life I lived in Pennsylvania and have a deep love for that state and appreciation for the significant role it played in the founding of our country. So although I may not be able to meet up with your prayer group in the 13 colony tour, as you suggested in a recent Wednesday night phone call, know that I will be “adopting” Pennsylvania for prayer purposes in your itinerary.
I hope that this e-mail has created as much an excitement and assurance in your heart and spirit that you are being led by God in the 13 colony tour, as you have done for me in my call of the “Spiritual Redo of the War of 1812 .
