April 24: NO CALL TONIGHT! Plus Jolene on Protection from Terror

NOTE: NO CONFERENCE CALL TONIGHT! We will be attending Barbara Simmons’ homegoing service this evening. If you are in the DC area, join us 7pm at Faith Tabernacle, 300 A Street NE DC. By popular demand! Today we’re featuring a prophetic teaching by Jolene. Look for many more “Jolene’s Corner” articles in upcoming LAMPostings. Jolene’s Corner… Let me first start by saying that several friends of mine have been prodding me to write more often in our newsletters.  I have resisted to this point in only the way a semi- Irish-Scottish girl can do.  They told me that the Lord had impressed upon them that he wanted me to have a section of our postings called Jolene’s corner. Anyone who know’s me knows that I actually have a corner in my house that “belongs” pretty much to me.  I am queen of that corner and of course I have my own “queen’s chair” in that corner as well.  So that said I am officially launching my version of Jolene’s corner and reigning from my beautiful purple chair in my corner.  Here are my thoughts…..I would be reticent to call it a posting because that would mean my well-meaning friends were right.  (Which if you also know me I will also never admit to 🙂 God’s Protection from Terror As I sat in my chair this morning to have my...

'A Life to be Celebrated'–Barbara Simmons and Carol Garlow Pass to Glory

From coast to coast, two of God’s choicest saints received an overcomer’s crown today. Barbara Simmons, beloved wife of senior DC intercessor Dick Simmons, was summoned to glory just before dawn this morning. We just received word that Carol Garlow, wife of San Diego pastor Jim Garlow, went to be with Jesus this afternoon. The spirit and legacy of each remain so much larger than life. They are profoundly similar. Carol and Barbara literally gave their lives as intercessors for their cities and nation. Both endured great suffering from illnesses that sought to define their latter years. Facing death numerous times, neither yielded–that is, until summoned by the Lord today. It is poignant that flags from coast to coast remain at half mast. As America mourns the victims of the Boston tragedy, I believe the angels of this covenant land are also honoring the incredible investments of these legacy-makers. Please pray for the Simmons and Garlow families. Pray also for the broader family of Skyline Church, pastored by the Garlows. And pray for the Nation, which these saints of God both loved so much. I heard from a very reliable source that a double portion is coming! Below is the posting I was finishing when word of Carol’s passing came. TEXTS FROM FRIENDS ABOUT BARBARA  I’ve spent much of the morning with Dick Simmons. For more than 30 years,...

April 20: One Nation Under God

Important time for us to remain in DC for intercession. Seek the Lord with us for full provision! Lamplighter donations greatly appreciated. Exactly on the 238th anniversary of the American Revolution, the final marathon bomber was apprehended while hiding in a boat by the city that became a war zone due to his actions. Not long after, Boston Commons erupted with shouts of gratitude, flag waving, songs and chants of “USA.” These newfound patriots might not have been celebrating the Revolution, but they were certainly celebrating the freedom their Boston forefathers fought to secure. And tonight it seemed the prayers of Boston and the nation were being answered. One cell phone videographer even exclaimed, “holy, holy, holy!” as she recorded gunfire and watched police enter the final conflict. President Obama himself seemed to acknowledge God’s hand. Commenting on America’s resolve, he declared we will move forward as “One Nation, under God, with liberty and justice for all.” Wasn’t that long ago–actually during President Obama’s inauguration–that this same phrase was cited by a leader as part of the invocation she was delivering. Stunningly, the words “Under God” were omitted from her prayer! I wrote with desperation how we will not remain “indivisible, with liberty and justice for all” unless we remain under the covering of our Lord. Tonight, I am delighted to say, history seems to have been mended. And through the...

April 18: Revolution 2013–Lighting the Freedom Torch

Important time for us to remain in DC for intercession. Seek the Lord with us for full provision! Lamplighter donations greatly appreciated. APRIL 18: REVOLUTION 2013–LIGHTING THE FREEDOM TORCH! Jolene and I extend our heartfelt condolences and prayers to friends in Texas in the wake of the unimaginable loss suffered in last night’s explosion. We and the Lamplighter family prayed together for you last night, and we stand with you for recovery. ON THE ANNIVERSARY of Paul Revere’s midnight ride, President Obama addressed a somber, fervent prayer vigil after Boston Marathon bombing. “We will all be with you as you learn to stand, and yes run again,” said the President. “Of that I have no doubt–you will run again. You will run again, ’cause that’s what the people of Boston are made of!” True that. President Obama then closed his message with a prayer. “Scripture tells us to run with endurance the race that is set before us. As we do, may God hold close those who have been taken from us too soon,” he said. “May He comfort their families. And may He continue to watch over these United States of America.” Call me naive, but I believe there’s something significant about the President of the United States coming to Boston for a prayer vigil–on the anniversary of Revere’s ride and the American Revolution–and asking God to watch...

Patriots Day Massacre–Context

TONIGHT–MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT–Plus prayer for Boston and nation after terrorist strike. 9-10 pm EST. Conference call number: 805-399-1200 access code 552-690. Use *6 to mute/unmute. Invite your friends! IN THE AFTERMATH of the “Patriots Day Massacre,” Jolene and I find ourselves continually fighting back tears. Sleep has been elusive. Our hearts and prayers remain with the victims, their families, and with the great city of Boston. Today I feel to give personal, prophetic context to the tragedy. Since the beginning of the year we have warned of terrorist attacks, and we have warned that the enemy would seek some means to abort God’s “New Birth of Freedom.” In retrospect, it’s no surprise that the enemy would strike Boston, the city known as the “womb of the revolution” and the “cradle of liberty.” And it’s no surprise that the strike was on the day celebrating the start of the American Revolution…. War for Freedom Whatever the ethnic origin or ideological compulsions of the terrorists, the Boston Marathon bombings are a direct assault on the very freedoms our forefathers fought to secure. Friends, like it or not, we are now enjoined in a war for freedom very similar to the one that broke out more than two centuries ago. The colonials fought not only to break through oppression, but to establish government where righteousness, justice and freedom would be empowered. How do...
