“OUR GOD IS CONSUMING FIRE. Our God is a holy wind. Whatever You speak is done. Whatever you touch will live!” This song by Elevation Worship has been Heaven’s highway to our hearts over the past month.
Yes Lord Jesus! I your ear is inclined to Heaven, you know that the momentum has indeed shifted these past few days. We are in a new season, complete with a new watch. Seals are being broken. Scrolls are being released. Throne room winds are truly compelling dry bones to live!
We covered aspects of this new season extensively on yesterday’s Turnaround Tuesday video. I hope you check it out. Here’s a brief perspective.
From 7-22 through September 11 we engaged in the “Flying Scrolls Prayer Project” based on a word Chuck gave for Washington DC. It was actually transitioning us into a new season. Based on Holy Spirit’s “911 warnings,” we kept vigil for Israel’s hostages, for the protection of our nation, and for the promise of receiving His double portion blessing. From Zechariah 9:11-12:
“As for you also, because of the BLOOD OF MY COVENANT with you, I HAVE SET YOUR PRISONERS FREE from the waterless pit.Return to the stronghold, you prisoners who have the hope; this very day I am declaring that I WILL RESTORE DOUBLE TO YOU” (Zech. 9:11-12).
DREAM—OUR WATCH IS NOW CHANGING!
This Saturday in a dream, the Lord called us to a new watch. Whereas we’ve primarily been focused horizontally, contending over real-time situations in DC, it is now as though our watchman’s seat has been shifted.
Early in the morning on October 12, I dreamed of a circular, velvet-like display, similar to what my wife and others use for their collections of bracelets. Only it wasn’t bracelets on display, it was two new watches. One for Jolene, one for me. They looked virtually the same and were synched with each other.
Black bands on our watches were replaced with new gold-white bands, symbolizing royalty, glory and holiness. I knew these gifts were given as a token of a promotion He had granted, a reward He had given. The song “He is always, always, always on time” seemed to be an unending, a resounding chorus through the dream.
A new watch. Paired together, for both of us. I woke up in God’s manifest presence, with His revelation breaking forth. The watch of the Lord was being defined. I immediately knew we were to keep this new watch from October 12 thru December 12. When I numbered the dates, it was wild to discover the watch covered exactly 62 days. Isaiah 62—for Zion’s sake.
Watch: From Armageddon to Zion
Watch this now. Because this is big. Our watch is shifting in this season from Armageddon to Zion. Scripturally and historically they are both headquarters for God’s watchmen to keep vigil. But the focus and perspective are different.
We have culminated a season which for us which began on December 9, 2022, when Jolene was given a warning while we visited Tel Megiddo or Armageddon. A grandfather clock appeared to her, hovering over the valley, with the hands set at ten minutes to midnight. Ten months later almost to the Day was October 7, 2023. Israel entered into a midnight hour. And we as the Lamplighter community entered into both a literal and figurative midnight watch.
As of yesterday, two years exactly on the Hebrew calendar, the hostages are finally home! The horrific war is over. And the Lord was speaking just beforehand of a new watch for this new day.
As commanders in the army of the Lord of hosts, we will continue to keep watch from Armageddon, and over Armageddon as directed. The intimidation is now gone. But just as the hostages have “returned to the stronghold,” and just as the soldiers are streaming towards home, so we are shifting as well. Our watch is now more vertical. Home is Zion!
Is this making sense? Maybe not to your head—just give it time—but I bet your spirit is resonating deeply with these words. It is literally as though we shifted realms by the Spirit of the Lord. I cannot explain it any other way. After two years of fierce contending and nonstop watches through the midnight hour, we have been shifted by the Lord from Armageddon to Zion.
I want to remind you that a day after Jolene’s experience on Tel Megiddo, we and a team picked up the double portion mantle by the Jordan River. It represented the Spirit and power of Elijah. Beloved it’s no coincidence that the focus on God’s double portion carries over into this new watch! And yet we are viewing it, experiencing it from a radically different perspective.
The Glowing Scrolls Prayer Project
Our watch has changed. Your vantage point has changed. And the double portion God has for you is now closer and clearer than ever!
So lets engage. What’s the new vigil called? The Glowing Scrolls Prayer Watch. And one scroll in particular is burning very bright. That again is Isaiah 62.
1 For Zion’s sake I will not hold My peace,
And for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest,
Until her righteousness goes forth as brightness,
And her salvation as a lamp that burns.
2 The Gentiles shall see your righteousness,
And all kings your glory.
You shall be called by a new name,
Which the mouth of the Lord will name.
3 You shall also be a crown of glory
In the hand of the Lord,
And a royal diadem
In the hand of your God.
4 You shall no longer be termed Forsaken,
Nor shall your land any more be termed Desolate;
But you shall be called Hephzibah, and your land Beulah;
For the Lord delights in you,
And (to Him) your land shall be married.
5 For as a young man marries a virgin,
So shall your sons marry you;
And as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride,
So shall your God rejoice over you.
6 I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem;
They shall never hold their peace day or night.
You who make mention of the Lord, do not keep silent,
7 And give Him no rest till He establishes
And till He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth…
10 Go through,
Go through the gates!
Prepare the way for the people;
Build up,
Build up the highway!
Take out the stones,
Lift up a banner for the peoples…
12 And they shall call them The Holy People,
The Redeemed of the Lord;
And you shall be called Sought Out,
A City Not Forsaken.
