Amos 9:11—In that day I will rebuild the fallen tabernacle of David…
Isaiah 16:15—A throne will even be established in lovingkindness, and a judge will sit on it in faithfulness in the tent of David; moreover, he will seek justice and be prompt in righteousness.
ANNOUNCING THE 9-11 WATCH
Prayer Call Wednesday! 9PM EST. Conference call number: 805-399-1200 access code 552-690. Use *6 to mute/unmute. Invite your friends to join us!
Our hearts are heavy as we write. A second American journalist has been beheaded by ISIS. Please pray for Steven Sotloff’s family and friends as they grieve and wrestle to mitigate the fear, pain and anger inflicted on their lives by this atrocity.
And beloved in Christ, lets not forget the tens of thousands of others, brothers and sisters who have been crucified, raped, mutilated, whose bodies now lie dormant in mass graves in the very land our soldiers recently fought to free.
America in Peril
As we approach September 11 this year, it’s no secret that our nation and world are in peril. Everyone from the Secretary of Defense to Chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee to the Prime Minister of England and the King of Saudi Arabia has warned of the imminent danger presented by ISIS. Add to this an endless stream of talking heads made up of congressional leaders, ex-CIA agents, and former military officials, all sounding the same alarm.
In an engaging commentary, Sen. Dianne Feinstein, chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee, observed that President Obama has been “perhaps too cautious” with ISIS. Our global leadership has been imperiled.
But what should we do? How should we engage to stop these atrocities? And as we engage our enemies on foreign soil, could these same enemies strike us on our own soil?
What is God Saying?
Even more importantly: what is God saying? And how do we position ourselves before His Throne so that our greatest efforts are not futile? Now more than ever, we need God’s covenant blessing and clear direction. One thing’s for sure—if we’re going to war, it’s probably not the best time to openly defy our Creator.
My thoughts return to Cindy Jacobs’ prophecy at the beginning of this summer’s Glory Procession. The Lord warned her that an attack greater than 911 was being planned for our nation. Remember, ISIS at the time was virtually unheard of by the general public. Yet the Lord spoke to her from Daniel 9:12 about a “great disaster” looming for our land. Cindy also said that “You will look back and see how this is a history making time.” She felt we together could “turn the battle at the gates!”
Announcing the 911 Watch
I believe we are in an emergency, and it’s time for America to cry out for help. As many prophets are admonishing, our best position right now is to “weep between the porch and the altar” for our nation (Joel 2).
For this reason, I am especially grateful this year for Davids Tent. From September 15-November 4, we are gathering 24/7 on the White House Ellipse to worship our Creator, to watch and pray, and to contend for the preservation of God’s blessing on our land. To weep between the porch and the altar of our nation’s highest seat, reminding God and ourselves of His covenant mercies.
As you know, Jolene and I are directing the new Prayer Tent. Please make plans now to join us here in Washington DC. Would you like to lead a prayer watch? Email us at [email protected], and we’ll do our best to make it happen.
We feel to engage in this “911 Watch” now, before Davids Tent starts. Here are four spheres we are contending for:
- Forerunning Prayer for Davids Tent
- Mercy, direction, and protection for America, especially around 9-11
- Accurate ‘real-time’ prophetic revelation and anointing for breakthrough
- In conjunction with the 21 day Reformation Prayer Network project, an exposure of injustice and corruption in our land that compels us all to repentance and righteousness.
The Awakening Alarm is Sounding
Friends, the trumpet—God’s awakening alarm—is now sounding. Pray that pastors and presidents hear the same call, and respond to Christ’s invitation to receive His great mercy. From Joel 2:
The day of the Lord is indeed great and very awesome, and who can endure it?
“Yet even now,” declares the Lord,“Return to Me with all your heart,
And with fasting, weeping and mourning; and rend your heart and not your garments.”
Now return to the Lord your God, for He is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger, abounding in lovingkindness and relenting of evil.
Who knows whether He will not turn and relent and leave a blessing behind Him,
Even a grain offering and a drink offering for the Lord your God?
Blow a trumpet in Zion, consecrate a fast, proclaim a solemn assembly, gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children and the nursing infants. Let the bridegroom come out of his room and the bride out of her bridal chamber.
Let the priests, the Lord’s ministers, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, “Spare Your people, O Lord, and do not make Your inheritance a reproach, a byword among the nations. Why should they among the peoples say,
‘Where is their God?’” (Joel 2:12-17).
