Special Davids Tent Prayer Call Weds! Jason Hershey is joining from Davids Tent DC, Jason Hubbard from Davids Tent Olympia, Jon joining from Jerusalem! Conference call number: 805-399-1200 access code 552-690. Use *6 to mute/unmute. Invite your friends to join us!
In Jerusalem, we are experiencing the final days of the Feast of Tabernacles. And in Washington DC—on the White House ellipse—Davids Tent has begun!
I write this morning from a succot overlooking Mt. Zion, from the home of our new friends Martin and Norma Sarvis. Remember that Zion is where King David pitched a succot for the Ark of the Covenant, and established the original “Davids Tent” with 24/7 worship to God. What a great place to pray for Jason Hershey, the core team, and worshipers coming from across the nation for this 40 day vigil!
May God’s covenantal foundations in both His lands be honored and established. And as the bells resound from a church on Zion this morning, may heaven’s praise resound from David’s Tent DC across the governmental centers of Washington DC. May hearts be drawn to God. And may our nation continue to stand with Israel in this hour of great decision.
From Washington to Washington to Jerusalem
For years the declaration above has been Lamplighter’s rallying cry, and with tonight’s prayer call we will see this fulfilled in a whole new way, literally connecting 24-7 praise from Washington to Washington to Jerusalem! We’ll be joined by Jason Hershey from DC. I will be joining from Jerusalem. And Washington State prayer leaders Jason Hubbard and Barbara Ingmire will be joining from their state capital, where they are actually facilitating “Davids Tent Olympia!!!”
You just cannot make this stuff up! Our friend and “Washington to Washington” pioneer Rosie Phillips will again be hosting the call. You don’t want to miss!
Succot Prayer: Restoring Tabernacle of David
It is miraculously appropriate for Davids Tent to launch over the closing days of the Feast of Tabernacles. We learned so much our first week here with Abby & Jim Abildness and the Healing Tree team. During a shabbat meal at an orthodox Jewish home last Friday, we discovered that prayers for the restoration of the Tabernacle of David were part of their liturgy during this Feast. Note that their home had an incredible view of the Dome of the Rock, only about a football field away. We watched as some fifteen men with yamakas and cascading beards faced the remains of their Temple and rocked and prayed for the House ofPrayer for all nations to be restored.
That said, their prayers are being answered. And it’s a bit bigger than anyone but God imagined. From Washington to Washington to Jerusalem, absolutely. But also from Kansas City to Shanghai to Seoul to Brussels to Dubai to… well you get the picture. The Amos 9:11 restoration of the Tabernacle of David is literally global, culminating and crescendoing where it all began, on Zion in Jerusalem.
Two Babies
In the next few days we will be sharing prophetic perceptions (and a few photos) gained during our first week. Let me mention just a few highlights now. We explored archeological ruins, actually the palace of Judah Macabee, under the private home of a courageous Holocaust survivor and his wife. We’ve toured the City of David and watched two couples bring home their newborns at Hadassah Hospital. Hadassah being the main hospital in Jerusalem, located in the town where John the Baptist was born.
Now, I’m not going to say these two babies were a sign to the global body of Christ of the two phases of this “new birth of freedom” year. You remember—a great year to be born, and a great year to be born again. Breakthrough on abortion, and the release of a forerunning move of the Holy Spirit…
But I am going to say seeing these two babies in a hospital in a town where John the Baptist was born was a sign personally. Absolutely unmistakeable. And from Washington to Washington to Jerusalem, you are part of this remarkable restoration process. Please keep praying! Covenant blessings to each of you.
