Last evening became an extraordinary window where prophetic timing intersected with history—and perhaps even defined it. James Goll, one of America’s foremost prophetic statesmen, thundered a sobering word on the eve of renewed negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians in Washington DC.

God’s plumbline has been dropped. A line has been drawn in the sand.

Before exploring the contents of the word, take a look at the orchestrations of the Lord here. Most Lamplighter friends know that James Goll has been a watchman and an invested prophetic voice for Israel and the Mideast over many decades. James was the invited speaker this weekend for a long-planned 30th anniversary celebration honoring Immanuel’s Church in metro Washington DC.

Which happened to culminate the evening before late-breaking Mideast negotiations hosted by Secretary of State John Kerry.

According to news reports, 10 days ago Kerry sealed an agreement for Israel and the Palestinians to return to the negotiating table, reportedly based on a proposal promoted by President Obama that would divide Jerusalem and return Israel to pre-1967 borders.

They return to the table today, in Washington DC. The timing is nothing less than uncanny. You just cannot make this stuff up.

Further, the word of the Lord came to James Goll on July 19, the very day Kerry announced the negotiations. James was spending his first night in his new home after moving. According to the prophet, for the first time in a year he heard the external audible voice of the Lord thundering, “A line has been drawn in the sand!”

Plumbline Issues: Sanctity of Marriage, Not Dividing Jerusalem
This was followed by a series of dreams two days later in which the Lord spoke the phrase, “When the plumbline is dropped…” According to James, it was clear that nationally and globally we were entering into a season of both shaking and glory as prophesied in Haggai 2.

Two issues were immediately highlighted to the prophet. First, Holy Spirit made clear His displeasure with the Supreme Court justices over their recent decisions regarding same sex marriage. James saw how this decision, of the magnitude of Roe v Wade, was “opening a door of great deterioration in the nation.” The Lord is drawing a line regarding both the sanctity of marriage and protecting the unborn.

The second key issue highlighted by the Lord was the international pressure to divide Jerusalem and Israel. God clearly warns of this in Joel 3:

“I will gather all the nations and bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat. Then I will enter into judgment with them there on behalf of My people and My inheritance, Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; and they have divided up My land” (Joel 3:2).

Mercy Me! Pray Now
Please take time to immediately pray for mercy for America and Israel. We all want peace. But it’s also clear that no firm peace will be established by compromising on God’s clear mandate for the nation He refashioned with His own hand.

Pray God’s heart and word over these negotiations, which are slated to start tonight. Pray much in the Holy Spirit. Declare God’s line in the sand!

And above all, pray for God’s mercy. In a further prophetic orchestration that seems to typify the life of my friend James Goll, the new home where the “external audible voice of the Lord” declared this word to him is actually the former recording studio of Mercy Me. It’s where the Christian band recorded their hit song, “I Can Only Imagine.”

What does this mean? PRAY FOR MERCY! Again you just cannot make this up.

Announcing the LINE IN SAND Prayer Project
For a few months now, Jolene and I have felt a drawing to focus most of August on “birthing intercession” for God’s work in the season ahead. Many prophets I’ve talked with, including Randy Demain and others, have perceived late August and September as a “birthing season” for God’s new move. As we shared on last Wednesday’s call, we also sensed the Lord was giving a major warning to pray for America, though at the time we didn’t really understand it.

And we’re still not sure we do. One thing is clear though. A line has been drawn in the sand.

So we encourage you to take this time now through August to seek the face of the Lord. Fast and pray. Lets align with His heart and work in our own lives and in the unfolding complexities of our world. We will post frequently—though not daily—throughout this time.

Note that the Jewish feast season begins early this year, with Rosh Hashanah on September 4 starting the “10 days of awe” culminating with Yom Kippur on September 14.

Jon and Jolene Going to Israel—First Time!
In yet another divine orchestration, Jolene and I will be traveling to Israel in mid-September, over the Feast of Tabernacles. This will be our first time ever going, and the timing for this journey is nothing less than amazing.

Details are still being worked out. But the story is worth noting. A few weeks ago we stopped in Hershey, PA to visit Jim and Abby Abildness. Abby, founder of Healing Tree Int’l, had invited us to join her for a trip to Nazareth and Jerusalem in September, and we decided to join them for dinner to discuss the idea.

As we were going to dinner, we received a phone call from dear friends. “Have you been to Israel? The Holy Spirit spoke to us it was very important for you to go this fall, so you can continue building bridges between Washington and Jerusalem.” This is almost their exact words, though they had no idea of our invitation! They even pledged to assist financially.

With their assistance, we only need $4000 in additional funding to completely cover our expenses. Which is extraordinary, especially given the added costs around the fall feasts! If you would consider a donation, we’d totally appreciate it (link above right).

And above all else, please pray. It’s now clear that prayer in August and journeying to Israel in September is far more important than we originally perceived. As we’re way to fond of saying… you just can’t make this up.
