Day 19: Choosing the Prayer Movement (Zech. 3)

TONIGHT! Prayer Call 9pm EST. Consecration for Davids Tent with special guest Martin Frankena! Martin is hugely gifted in healing, deliverance and the prophetic. Conference call number: 530-881-1400 access code 903-586. Use *6 to mute/unmute. Invite your friends to join us. WELL–Shofar, so good. Ha! A little Feast of Trumpets humor here. Remember how these Days of Awe are days of decision. Jewish tradition holds that the Lord writes His verdict for each person for the coming year on Rosh Hashanah/ the Feast of Trumpets. His verdict–His destiny–is sealed in the “Book of Life” on Yom Kippur. During the days in between–the 10 Days of Awe–adherents believe that His verdict can be changed for the better by repenting and realigning with God’s heart and covenant. So far we’ve presented God’s invitation: To choose Israel To choose the grace of giving To choose opening our hearts Today we’re going to explore choosing the prayer movement. Really we are choosing not only a prayer movement, but a consecration to function within this new move of God. So fasten your seatbelts, and lets get moving! Yom Kippur–Day of Decision Davids Tent launches next Tuesday on Yom Kippur–the holiest day of the Jewish faith. Also on Yom Kippur, Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmedinejad is scheduled to address the UN. Somehow, on a day where Jews believe God’s verdict for people and nations is sealed...

Day 18: Rend Your Hearts

Update from Jason Hershey: Last week Davids Tent was at $50,000, facing giant expenditures for power, tent, sound, logistics, etc. As of today, $37,000 more has come in–a total of $87,000! This is an absolute miracle. To all who have given in prayer and in funds, we are beyond grateful! THANK YOU JESUS! Our next prayer call is Wednesday night at 9pm EST. Conference call number: 530-881-1400 access code 903-586. Use *6 to mute/unmute. Invite your friends to join us! Choosing Your Heart For the past few days, we have explored choices God is encouraging us to make in this season known as the Days of Awe. Each of these decisions are vital to securing God’s “homeland security.” We have heard His call to choose Israel, and His invitation to embrace the grace of giving. Today we’re going to again explore our alignment with God. A passage from the Book of Jolene–ok, I mean Joel–really comes to mind. But Jolene totally could have written this! With crisis looming over Israel, the prophet Joel admonished his generation to return to the Lord with fasting, weeping and mourning. “And rend your hearts and not your garments. Return to Me…” (Joel 2:13). Many will find this choice the toughest of all. But within the grace of opening our hearts, authenticity and purity are recovered. We again see God. And that is what matters...

Day 17: Securing National Blessing

The Days of Awe are days of decision. Where the Spirit of God challenges us to make choices. To re-align our hearts and our priorities according to His generous covenant! Yesterday we shared on choosing Israel. In choosing Israel’s blessing, we are truly choosing our own. We shared about being grafted into God’s covenant with Israel, even as a nation. And how vital your intercession is in this hour of decision. Choosing to Give Today I want to share on an aspect of repentance and realignment traditionally emphasized during the Days of Awe. That is choosing the grace of giving. Lamplighter family, I cannot even write this without first expressing our profound gratitude for you. Your generosity towards us has empowered our ministry at such a critical time for our nation–in DC no less! Do we have needs? Yup. But that’s not why I’m writing. This morning I felt the Spirit of God highlight “giving” during these Days of Awe. God wants us to reconcile our books with Him. And perhaps the corporate body of Christ is being called to a much higher standard of stewardship than we’ve attained. Leaders first! Not surprisingly, our obedience in giving to the Lord is a primary means to secure His protection and preservation for our Nation. We’ll explore this in a moment. Your Field of Harvest For now, take some time in God’s presence,...

Day 16: Blow the Awakening Trumpet

“God reigns over the nations, God sits on His holy throne. The princes of the people have assembled themselves as the people of the God of Abraham, FOR THE SHIELDS OF THE EARTH BELONG TO GOD; He is highly exalted”–Psalm 47:9 Welcome to the “Head of the Year” and the Feast of Trumpets! Jolene and I are grateful for you. Let your spirit awaken to Heaven’s resonance tonight. We pray you experience what the Apostle John experienced when a trumpet sounded, and immediately he was in the Spirit, beholding God’s Throne. May you enter into His council today! Power Secured for Davids Tent Hard to believe Davids Tent is only ten days away. We have experienced many breakthroughs these past few days. Jason Hershey shared with me that Kingdom kindness has reduced the anticipated $40,000 in generator rentals and electricity by half! And with recent donations, most of this expense has now been covered. As of Rosh Hashanah, power has been secured. THANK YOU LORD! And thank you friends for your generous hearts. Speaking of power secured on Rosh Hashanah… below is Jolene’s recounting of a very significant dream in which the Lord was about to blow the awakening trumpet. Jolene’s dream was on August 4. At the time, she had no idea that this is the trumpet sounded by Jewish people on Rosh Hashanah. In her dream, Jolene...

Day 15: Days of Decision

The world is in tumult. Yesterday I was invited to intercede for the Values Voters Summit, and was really impacted by Michele Bachmann’s speech. Rep. Bachmann noted how she had recently been strongly criticized for her warnings about radical Islamist aggression. During that time, I honestly wanted her to be wrong. Today is a different world. As Rep. Bachmann noted, “No one here is suggesting that all Muslims are radical, but we should not be ignorant of the objective reality that there is a very radical wing of Islam that is dedicated to the destruction of America, of Israel…” Tomorrow begins Rosh Hashanah and Yom Teruah. Two Jewish holidays on the same day. Rosh Hashanah celebrates “the Head of the Year.” Yom Teruah is “the Feast of Trumpets.” Each year, these holidays mark what I call “the Days of Decision.” And these days seem vastly more emphasized by the Holy Spirit than in years past. Days of Awe, Days of Decision According to Jewish tradition, God frames His destiny for our lives each year on Rosh Hashanah. Over individuals and nations, He determines our future and records both the blessings and challenges in His Book of Life. The 10 days between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur are known as “the Days of Awe.” Over is period, His verdict for our lives is open to be changed. According to Jewish tradition, God’s...
